I'm assuming he randomly came across this pic someone took at local car show??That isn't the car in the movie, however.
The car in the movie was a 1968 Camero SS in KK Tripoli Turquoise with white stripes and rectangular driving lights in the grill---not a 1969, not black stripes.
Yup they did make alot of SS's in 69. I might think the Z-28 302 would be rarer, especially if it had the RS package on top of it?HI, for that year I wouldn't pay over 30,000

Wonder how many COPO's left?? Was the L89 427 the one with the Aluminum heads? or even better the all Aluminum 427I agree, the Z/28 RS with the hidden headlights would be more desirable, ....and more expensive.
If you really want to go all out, try and find one of the COPO's with the ZL-1 427ci engine, it looks like only 69 were made.
