Hey All,

I made this video of my 1167mW 445nm to my 493mW 405 12x. I wanted to see witch would pop a balloon faster at 30 feet away.:)

Both lasers were focused to the tightest. (Lots of back and forth walking.;))

445nm 1167mW
Aixiz 445nm lens
1.2amps

405nm 493mW
405-G-1 Lens
380ma

Test was a little shaky when i was trying to point the laser on the balloon but i assure you the 12x always wins.

:thanks: For Looking.

Is that because it has a tighter beam profile and so higher energy/area?

Hi, nice video.

Yes, 405nm 12x always win. I tried many distance balloon poping with both my 2W 445nm (1.7W with 445 aixiz lens) and >700mw 405nm (Jayrob's 405-G1) and the distance I can pop a balloon with 405nm is over twice the 445nm one. The beam profile of 445nm is not for distance burning, even a 2W one.

Cheers

The 405nm has better divergence, witch makes it a better burner for long distances.

So basically the 445nm is more then double the power of the 405nm laser witch you would think it would pop the balloon faster but because the divergence is not as good as the 405nm the 445nm dot is much larger witch will take longer to burn/pop a balloon at a long distance then the 405nm witch has a smaller dot.:D

If the 445nm had the divergence of the 405nm it would be a killer long distance burner.

Iam still a beam kind of guy but found it interesting to see the results.:)

Dang, I wish someone would design a single-mode multi-watt 445 nm laser...

Actually, I think it's very possible. Just a few years ago, (single-mode) 405 nm lasers were barely breaking 100 mW, but now they can be pushed up to almost a watt.

Yep, the 445 multimode diode makes a line, not a dot...

But the video is still impressive that it pops the balloon so fast at 30'!

I was also impressed as well well. I dint think the 445nm at that distance would have done it quick.

But the 405nm really shocked me. I want to see how much further i can go with it.:) I will set up a longer shot once i figure out where i can do it at.;)

405nm is what you call a "Sleeper" Looks stock and not powerful on the outside but packs a punch under the hood.

Good video comparison. In the end quality of the laserbeam always wins from quantity

Uhh. It was on a tripod.:) What part are you talking about.?

I dont know the name of the song. I DL it from Youtube about year ago and can not find the video anymore ill see if i can find it.:)
