Great find bro. If you were to strip the anodizing under the heatsink and add in a thin layer of thermal grease you could further increase the effect.

If you were to send the laser + heatsink to someone like Eudaimonium or Flaminpyro I'm sure they would be able to add in a tiny set screw or two to hold the heatsink in place.

Thanks guys. I was really excited that the motor i took it off of was just a few millimeters smaller. It holds on really snug to the host. No slip or scrape.
This is a really inexpensive add on. Whats really nice, it gives the laser a kickstand/flat spot so it doesn't roll around and blind the world. PM me if you want measurements of the heat sink. i can get you precise measurements cause I'm sure this will work with a bunch of other hosts as well. also PM me if you want the link to the heat sink. Not going to start posting too many links and crap on Yobs thread.

You wouldn't want this kind of power in a pen build. It would overheat instantly and burn out in a couple seconds. For a pen build, low power is all you can get without having huge heat issues.

I have a gold played pen laser at 445nm doing around 800mW. Very short duty cycles are a must. Price for that work of art is $150

Yeah it's an awesome build. My go to laser when I go out. 800mW is Pretty imprssive when it's coming from a pen Both in brightness and burning ability.
