Hi I just received my laser today and followed the instructions to successfully put it in. However I have a question.

I'm not sure if I assembled it wrong or what, but the dot is huge. Even if I unscrew the lens piece it just gets larger. If I screw the lens piece closer to the diode it gets smaller but not small enough, still quite the circle.

But if I turn the lens piece around it does a bowtie effect but the dot is in fact a dot and not large in diameter.

Is it supposed to be like this?

Contact me via PM with your address and I'll send you another lens right away. I have heard of this happening with one other customer, I replaced his lens and it cleared up the problem. Also if you could return the lens so I can examine it and let the supplier know about the problem.

FYI after your post I tested 14 lenses and they all functioned normally.

Well, I received my kit yesterday afternoon! Nice turn-around and delivery to CA!

Assembly was easy and, after charging up the batteries, the laser worked fine. Looking forward to some fun experiments this weekend!
