1-1.3 watt 445nm Laser Packages **ONLY $190 SHIPPED IN THE US**

Re: 1-1.3 watt 445nm Laser Package **ONLY $190 SHIPPED IN THE US**

What is the best way to clean the lense? You might get a lot of sales with some cheap microfiber cloth or something on your site! Also, is the g1 lens specific for burning or will it also increase range?

I think others on this forum might have some better advice, but the microfiber cloth that ships with the Eagle Pair goggles that are sold with the case could work. I avoid getting the lens dirty by keeping it covered with the lens cap unless I'm actually using it.

And yes the G-1 lens is best for burning, as the beam divergence is not as good as with the standard lens.

Well you asked, and I normally don't do that sort of thing, but if you had some vintage Mac equipment I might be interested.

I do have a vintage IBM aptiva running windows 2000 (came with 95) and a old imac

Probably not then, I'm more interested in a PowerBook 140 and/or 170 in good working condition.

I have an original, complete, first-generation Mac from the early-mid 80's.

I'm not soliciting a sale, just jabbering...

No clue if it even works any longer. It has not been turned on in many years, and power supply capacitors tend to rot out if they are not cycled occasionally.

I have one of those as well, It was working as of last year at least...

I received my Survival Laser today! - along with a £17 (around $25) bill from Royal Mail for handling the package.
The bill was meant to happen anyway, so no big issue there.
Anyway, it was simple to build and it worked well. But I noticed a small imperfection in the dot, that's probably some dust on the lens.
I am satisfied with the laser! Thanks a lot Gary! :D
Just one thing, how should I clean the lens? I have a lens pen and an air blower, and also micro fibre cloths around.

Glad it finally showed up!!

DRY air or a microfiber cloth should work. One thing to keep in mind is that a certain percentage of the 445nm diodes display minor artifacts in the dot, which could be from something on the diode window or another cause.

Yeah, I got rid of the dot in the circle. But there is another issue, and cleaning the lens doesn't help with this one. There is one faint straight line that goes across the dot, making it look like a 'bow tie'. What can I do to fix this?

Re: 1-1.3 watt 445nm Laser Package **ONLY $190 SHIPPED IN THE US**

I think I remember reading somwhere that "bow tie" may be caused by the lens being put in backwards. You might want to double check that.

Keep in mind also that the blues tend to be more of a bar / rectangle shape then a clean round dot.

If you could post a picture that might also help. I'm sure others will have more advice then me though.

Thanks, I was going to say the same thing. :)

Re: 1-1.3 watt 445nm Laser Package **ONLY $190 SHIPPED IN THE US**

Thanks for the suggestion. I also read the manual when assembling it and it said if you put the lens upside down then you will get a bow tie shape, and I tried turning the lens the other way, but it won't screw in if I do that.
And also, I'm 100% it's not normal because the line exceeds the dot on both sides.

The latest batches of lenses received from the suppliers have been producing a faint "side-splash" of light on either side of the dot, which is similar to what you describe.

Oh, okay. Yeah, I think it's just the lens. It's a very minor issue anyway.
Thanks again for the fantastic laser! Great job!
And once again, I would love to see this kit in other wavelengths.:D

Thanks!

Regarding the other wavelengths, the red and purple heat sinks are on order. :D

Woo hoo! Does that mean the hink sinks are going to be anodized in colors to match the lasers? If so I may have to eventually grab a blue heat sink from you so I can get a matching set. (I went for the copper upgrade)

What would be the cost for just a blue heasink? I don't see anything on the web site for anything In blue.

Can't wait till you start offering th other kits! :D

That is correct. :) I'm going to put the blue heat sink on the webstore at $17.50, but I will honor an LPF price of $15.75 plus $3 shipping.
