He told me if you used it every day for a few hours it would last more than 3 years. so like 3000-5000 hours + most likely. It's very dependent on how you take care of it... Duty cycle etc..

something that I noticed was, who ever isn't used to the laser, get more irritated to the blue light than those who are adjusted~

So im wonder if there is a way to "nerf" the laser for non-burning use?

I tried the single 18650 3.7v cell, but it wasn't able to power it~

The 2 juice cell when drained do produce a weaker dimmer light, but that effect only last a duration of less than 60 seconds

While I was watching a video review (kofff... kiplay...) of a wicked lasers arctic laser
They had a "training" lens" which "decreased the power by 80%"
Is there such thing for that will fit this laser?

(if you have any other ideas on nerfing the laser, please say~)

I'll say. I bought a 445 1w from Luke 2 weeks ago. Waited and it never came. I filed an Inquiry through USPS and was told that the label was printed, but never scanned/shipped. I told this to Yob and he told me that it must have been swiped at the local post office drop-off (he never had this happen before either, I believe). Anyway, he is shipping a replacement out immediately. He is a great guy and his service is awesome! :thanks: :D

Post #843 on page #34 describes operation with a single 3.7v.
I wonder if you need to charge your battery?

hmm if thought that yob said something about making a custom one that ran off of 3.7v?
(in post 843 it said something about "two different yob 445nm builds")

its so I can use it as a more as a "pointer" when not in in "arson" mode :x
(the reflection of 900mw is more than enough to annoy the heck outta people ;-; )

sorry meh funding in kinda low atm ;-; (just bought laser glasses a lil ago)

but the main reason behind this so that i only have to carry one laser with me. (and maybe a spare battery or lens in a separate pouch attacked to the strap)

sorta like an all-in-one Swiss army knife vs carrying a knapsack of (knives, corkscrew.... etc)

I hope you can under stand ;-;

I like to top the off too, but LiIon has never presented an issue with self discharge for me.
Thats the same type of batteries used to power your computer bios, and almost everything I have in my house.

NiMH is another story.... 2 - 5% a day loss for them, unless you get the new slow discharge type.

But back to what the laser uses...... the 3.0 "non rechargable LiIon" or the 3.6 - 3.7 Volt rechargeable both do well for self discharge.

However, these lasers with these linear drivers always give an extra edge of power if the input voltage is better.... so topping them off so they are fresh is good.

I simply make sure I have at least one extra battery for any laser I have...
Nice not having to wait for a charge cause a fresh one is always on standby in the charger!

200.00 is a lot to spend just for a project, but its worth it for the laser regardless of the project!

To pass through a transparent object you will need to play the game of not reflecting the beam and not absorbing it either by the plastic.

We all know glass will pass a beam since thats what the lenses are made of and Acrylic will too... but if you buy a piece of clear plexiglass you may have a chance.

I has to be clear enough to not absorb light or it will burn and melt but not so hard that its reflective.
I would suggest your thread be some color besides white or blue so that it will absorb the blue light the best.

For what its worth.... my 60.00 pair of laser glasses from a reputable company in Canada.. "will" burn if the laser is close like a few inches away and "will" burn and melt!... But they are designed to absorb the energy so it does not pass through.... a clear clean plastic I would think should pass just fine.
