1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

Cool, thanks for the info Nordhavn. I think I will try the teflon tape mod.

Yeah I just want to use the 18650 as a low power mode and the two r123s as full power mode. :thanks:

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

So the mystery of the missing 3 mode is solved. It was me. You mentioned it wasn't tested I assume the current was set to the same as the others to make 1-1.2W. If so my comparison of the laser to my 120mw 405nm and my 30mw green confirm this as far as I can tell by eye.

As you know if I mail this into the US, it might be taken by customs. If you can confirm its ~1.2W or basically to spec, I wouldn't mind keeping the laser. I will need a day to think if I want to or not :D. I should've thought of this scenario but kept thinking it wouldn't be me.

Wow, Glad to hear it surfaced somewhere. I have not tested the output but it should be around 1 watt on High mode. If you decide you want a different laser let me know and we can work something out. Send me a PM if you would like. Thanks for being understanding about the mix up. I was freaking out the day I realized what I had done.

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

What is the testing procedure? (unless you mean it just wasn't metered) I.e. What was not done to this laser versus a normal batch? (That includes construction) My biggest concern was it having a lower power output, now that that's not the case I might keep it :D.

It just has not been metered. I meter every laser I sell right after I am finished building them but I did not meter this one. Its construction is solid.

Just got mine today. It made it evident how natural is for mammals (People) love pretty lights. Naturally, sky pointing at an engineering school campus attracted several people to ask me what the hell they just saw :).
Besides the obvious awesomeness of a high-powered 445nm laser, this build is beyond my expectations. Simple, solid, high quailty product indeed.

P.S. Its good to have someone who wants to do real, smooth business transactions without the lies and tiresome delays of certain companies. Thanks!

No problem. I am glad you like it. Also I should note I will likely be discontinuing the sale of these lasers as completed builds in about 1 week.

Any reason for not selling as completed lasers anymore? Is it just because you dont have time for it anymore?

Nice! So I Got a "Custom Limited Edition" :D
Good thing I got one before the end of production.

PM sent

Sad that you wont be making complete lasers anymore.. happy i bought a laser from you before this :D

Does the charger that comes with the package tell you when its done charging the batteries (green light?)? or should I go by a time span. I dont have a volt meter.

Light turns green

So after a day of use (getting used to the 3-mode mainly) I have concluded that I will be keeping the 3-mode laser. It goes from High>Low>Strobe.

The 3-mode is a bit touchy (with an 18650 at least) I find that if I switch the modes too quickly it'll go to hybrid modes (strobe low power, and ultra low?) among others at least 6 modes. But if I add a pause, it will cycle modes properly. Also from cold start, the first 6 or so modes are pretty much random.

With 2 CR123As it perfect everytime. My goggles are on the way so my CR123A use is minimal for now. Using a phone camera (as a video shield) I tried test burning with CR123As. The 3-mode here is absolutely perfect. I used the low power mode to focus it 'safely' its still pretty bright then switched modes to burn. The multi-mode combined with a simple laser stand is the ideal setup.

Thank you Luke for sending me this laser:D:thanks:!!! I love it more than the arctic S3 that I canceled.
