1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

Second for me, :paypal: -- Highly reccomend these. As someone who's built my own, and owns two Arctics, these are my favorite yet; and you don't have to worry about customs!

I haven't been able to put mine down since I got it, and I also own an Arctic.

I did put a spring on the focusing lens, if anyone wants to see a photo.

So when I get mine, I'll first have it shipped to you for the spring install:cool:

I'm still trying to come up with the money and can't find anything to hock in my house, that is unless my wife won't notice the 60" plasma missing from the family room. I'm getting desperate so do you think its wrong to dig through her jewelry box?:eg:

Ok, thats what I thought... Although i just used a tiny bit of teflon tape... worked perfectly

Just bought it, will post pics of it when it arrives! :D

the' outer spring' idea looks like a good one, maybe even in additon to the teflon tape. Did you just cut a standard spring of some sort? Or is this something that could be acquired at home depot or something.

Used a spring from work, and cut it. Took a few cuts to get it right. I'm sure you could get a similar spring at a hobby shop or hardware store.

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

to tighten the lens in place
so it won't be so easy to twist it

To insert the spring, don't you have to un-screw the lens all the way off? Can a laser noob like me handle that much pressure?;) Yo's original post had the following warning and its got me skeerd:

"Upon Reciept of your laser....DO NOT OPEN THIS LASER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! doing so WILL BREAK IT (I know how to open it without breaking it)"

So by opening he means other than the lens right? I'm not a burner so I'd like set the beam at it's most optimal beam viewing setting and then never mess with it again.

Hmm. I see "spring" sales in your future. Just don't forget your old friend Gsquared when the PayPals start rolling in:D

Heh right. The lense screws right off, no problems.
The spring also helps eliminate the slight jiggle you would get without it, I dunno if the thread tape does this also?
