Thanks guys! And thanks Cyparagon for the knowledge about reflection. The small little green spot next to the main one was getting annoying! I will now level the glass back to normal so it goes away and it’s one solid beam. And you guys think 1.6 amps isn’t over driving it? I want longevity out...
Yes absolutely I can try and keep track of the hours, but Honestly I don’t really put a lot of run time on my builds anymore. Most of the time I build them, marvel at their beauty, then put them in a case, or sell em. I could make an exception though!
Thank you. And it’s funny I ended up off centering it before I read this! I can now see a small dot next to the main one, but I like the added protection considering it is a de canned diode.
So this is my latest build. It is a de canned NugM02 520nm green. 25mm module with a g2 lens. It’s running off of 2 Fennix 16340’s that feed a SXD at 1.6A. The host came with the glass led protector and I decided I’d try and keep it. But then I remembered that we want minimal back reflection...
No, they don't. The lasers that do are the "dpss" green 532nm. They emit infrared because they use an 808nm infrared laser diode which is shown into some crystals and emits a green light. They often times don't put in a IR filter in those cheap green lasers.
Hello all. Recent build with the pl520. Driver is LDSE 500 set to 250ma. 20mm module from DTR. Love ordering random LED flashlights and making them work. It's almost like they make them in mind of us modding them.
Thanks guys! And thanks Rich, I was always hesitant on the A140's considering their price. But with your opinion in mind I'm gonna order a couple! Any lower-priced drivers you guys know of that'll run those diodes
Okay, so I do mix and match different laser parts a lot because most of their parts are the same size. I had the axiz module in, then replaced it with the copper. (Didn't document it.) The 303 laser heads fit right on top of the axiz lenses. No glue needed. Easy for adjusting focal length. And...
Well I got the pl520 and the LDSE500. Had no way of testing what the driver was pushing out, so I just put everything together and hoped it would be alright. Which it is, I just don't know what it's doing for power. Looks really nice at night though!
That thing is awesome! Very well made sir! Where'd you find that copper module? How many MW is it putting out? I really wish I knew what mine was doing, that way I don't push it too hard and fry the diode.
Thank you! Yeah, power isn't as important when you build them yourself as to buying them. That's how I feel anyway. But I can't wait to build my own 1watt greenie! Maybe I'll do the 520B for my next green build. Thanks for more knowledge!
Things are looking up! I'm 2 for 2 now on building lasers. This is a pl520 with an LDSE500 driver! Got the host from the dollar store, lol! Unsure of power. I asked DTR to set the driver so the diode would output 100mw. Looks weaker than that though. Anyway, I'm really pleased. Also really...
Thanks all! I've blown about a dozen diodes and 1 X Drive! Persistence is key in this hobby. Cheers to many more. Next is the pl520. I'll post when finished! Im gonna do a red build after. Then on to more power!
