Thanks! :) I was going to make a 'return' thread but I'm unsure how long I'll actually be back for. I'm busy with other things, and my interest in lasers is fading away somewhat, especially because of our strict laser laws. However I still do I enjoy seeing everyone else's collections!
I'm at the ripe old age of 17! I didn't know there was this many users around my age group.
I think it's cool how despite our varying ages, we can all collaborate and form discussion over a common interest.
Yeah if your "5mW" is popping balloons, then I'd say it's at least 50-100mW (if anyone wants to correct me then go ahead). I believe the best burners are mainly regarded as red and violet, and maybe blue as well.
Colours to some extent are just personal preference, some people enjoy different colours over others! Some colours are rarer than others (yellow for example), so then that adds value to that particular colour.
Green is the most visible to the eye, so it's often a favourite. Having 500mW+ just...
Hello Everyone!
So I just checked and the last time I was on here was about 18 months ago?!? Woah.
I was just sitting on my couch today, and some fog started to roll in, that triggered a thought about lasers and that I haven't been here in forever! So, what have I missed exactly? As I said...
I'm extremely busy/occupied with other things at the moment, anyone wanting to take over and open up round 2 for this contest can do so, just make sure only 1 of you are doing it :)
Thanks everyone :)
Yes AUS I was a little concerned, especially after the package including the diode came a week later than the rest. However it arrived in the end, and I'm very happy with it :)
Hello Everyone,
So I have just recieved a wonderful build from the master; Blord.
This laser was a custom build requested by me, it is an Opnext 120mW 638nm in a black, unmarked, C6 host with an orange tailcap button, to match the orangey-red wavelength :). The laser cost me $125 including...
Wow. Well it turns out the laser is absolutely fine, the battery just wasn't charged properly. I should have probably tried charging it first, but it didn't come to mind because the battery powered my flashlight just fine.
Thanks very much Blord for this great laser, I'll be posting a review...
I rested the metal part of a screwdriver on the negative side of the battery and the host, still no lasing.
I will take a picture as soon as possible :)
Are you asking which way the battery should be inserted? I'm actually not sure to be honest. I assume it is negative to the tailcap, since the spring is on the tailcap? I'm actually not sure.
Hello Everyone,
So I just received the laser that was shipped to me by Blord, in two seperate packages. It's a 120mW 638nm Opnext laser in a C6 host. I've assembled the laser, inserted batteries, turned it on and...nothing. At the current time I'm assuming that this is my own fault and not...
The last post in this thread was over a year ago, no need to necropost it now
Also, what kind of flashlight is that listed in your signature?!? I don't recommend googling "cum flashlight"
