lifeline i do appreciate where you're coming from. what would you ask for a skyray? i don't think you see me. i'm pretty close to putting it into an altoid box (you might not get that one). i have a sink for the module.
hey jerry, i found a resistor that worked. dave told me this old tube needed one at both ends. i did have my polarity mixed tho. cathode got the 10k, i found a 75k for the anode.
it lases now. so i get to quit playing and get packing.
thanks hak!
come on!! none of you oldtimers have like a sky ray or something? . one of those c-11 flashlights with heatsink or something like it. i have a kryton groove i'd offer, plus cash. i remember giving some pretty sweet deals in the past.
i'd like to drop in a 16x 405 diode/driver dtr...
as i'm moving i've been going thru stuff as usual. lit up an old red tube. beautiful!. i have a nice naked green tube i bought from dave a long time back. it needed a ballast resistor at both ends. the + one i have and it's 10k ohms.
the one for the - end i can't find. any idea what value i...
i've been away from lasers for a few years so i've lost touch with the people here. i'd like to buy an old used host i could drop a 12 mm module from dtr into. i'm going for a 405 16x diode run at ~500 mW used for short <60 sec runtimes so massive heat sink not needed. ideally i'd just want to...
techood sent me a replacement diode. this one is supposed to be the real thing. did anyone else contact them? they did seem eager to make things right and when i pop it into my groove i'll report back.
Just saw this on space daily. I wonder if they manipulate the wavelength using temperature or input current? maybe both? i never thought about using a diffraction grating for combining before, but I see now how it could work.
I'm in the middle of moving, but looked in and see these diodes are crap. i'm gonna email techood, this is the first time I have been disappointed with them.
i killed mine outright due to stupidity or something...but still they are not the diodes advertised.
edit sent them a message stating...
i had my diode ready to go and tested with the flex and in the host then killed it....
i'm looking forward to more data on these, hopefully better output than what drake is getting. i have a few soc reds left and will prolly put one of those in my groove in the mean time.
Edit: a power...
i did some more reading and found that greased lightning works and i found some under the sink. a 5 minute soak and a bit of scraping later i have continuity everywhere i need. now to dig out (find) my iron and soon i'll have a nice 650 groove!
thanks for all the help guys:beer:
thanks spooky and grainde! i have no dremel, but i do have pure lye. i'll try a bit on the threads to see how it goes. will i see any visible change when the anodizing is dissolved?
