Lego EV3 -Universal, High Performance, Autonomous Car Platform

Been a long time sense I posted here, this website is almost nostalgic in a very weird way. I have sense been working with robotics education. Lasers and flashlights where kinda like a gateway drug for technology and engineering. A drug that is rewarding and addicting, but doesnt ruin your...

Great 18650 host, but a bad diode. Looking to replace Diode

I have purchased a 50mW 532nm laser from Chinavasion. Heres the link: Mega Power Green Laser Pointer (50mW Edition) Anyway, its been about a week and the diode burnt out. I was very disappointed because this was my favorite laser. Not because its a 50mW, but because the build quality was...

    WTB Inexpensive LaserBee

Im looking for a laserbee (or kenometer) that is capable of measuring both 532nm, and 405nm lasers. And it also has to able to measure up to 200mW. It dosnt have to have graphing capabilities, nor does it even have to have a screen. It could be plug into a multimeter. I know they sell $40...

Has anybody tried using a Bic lighter for their host?

I saw this video a while ago YouTube - Cheapy Lighter Laser Burner! Has anyone tried this? Now that I am into lasers I want to further pursue this project. Where can I get all the parts that AREN'T from LaserDIY, because their over-priced. Also, they guy had to have edited his video...

Tools to measure mW from a laser?

Would a lux meter be appropriate to use to measure the amount of mW a laser produces?

Looking to buy a Lux meter, or somethign to measure mW

Would a Lux meter be the equipment to use to measure the amount of mW a laser can produce?

    Quality 200mW on Focal Price

My intent is to resell these lasers. People rave about green lasers, but now since more and more people buy green ones there becoming less cool. Luckily theres violet. I know 200mW is the highest they make them without being $1000's. My main supplier is focalprice. Witch so far I am very...

    Focalprices 200mw Lasers

I cant decide on wich ones I am going to buy. My plan is to resell, so my most important feature on these lasers is longevity (i don't want a customer to call me back and tell me their laser broke). Im aware that these are all chinease, and im also aware that the output isnt going to be exactly...

Harvesting a laser diode from a laser printer?

is it possible? If it is, how much power is behind it?

    Brightness ratio between colors

What is the brightness ratio between all the colors of the spectrum? For example, I know that a 200mW 660nm (red) is just as bright as a 4mW 532nm (green). How bright is a 405nm (violet) compared to a 532nm, or a 593.5nm (yellow-orange)?

    PS3 Diode?

I was wondering what is the milliwattage of a PS3 diode? I've never built a 405nm laser before and I wanted to know how much power a blu-ray burner can produce. Also, I have several salvaged drivers from burnt out 532nm 50mW lasers. Can I use a 532nm driver on a 405nm diode? Thanks

Bulk, high quality Laser pens (50mW)

Over the past months iv been selling 50mW laser pens. The only problem is that I have been receiving numerous amounts of calls back from customers saying that there laser burnt out. This has been really annoying. I'v been able to buy the 50mw laser pens for about $20 each. Only problem is that...

Does range really affect a lasers ability to burn?

The title is pretty much self explanitory, but does it really matter how far away you are from the thing your trying to burn? Lasers don't slow down or anything, they will always travel 186,000 miles a second... But then again, it would really matter how dusty the room is, right? I don't...
