.. Use the focusing lens that comes with the diodes on the drives that we extract them from, expecially the Blu-ray drives. Maybe these lenses are AR coated, possibly even glass? Just wondering if anyone has tried them yet, as Blu-ray's dont have a great selection for lenses...

WEll got my 803t diode de-soldered, so I am going to mount it in the housing, but the window seems to have a little bit of dust on it. SHould I try and clean it or is that too risky? What should I use to clean it? EDIT: I am asking because Im scared by all of the horrow stories of windows...

Well I was reading IgorT's topic and how the Aixiz lens is 3( or six, cant remember) element and that that reduces power. Is there a way to pull out some of the lenses( while still making it work)?

Have you guys ever created complete destructive intereference by shining two lasers together? IE shining two beams through a prism or whatever you sue to combine beams and have nothing come out( or it be very dim)? This is the only example of destructive intereference with light I can seem to...

All I would need would be a module(a dorcy or something), the diode( from the $20 803t sled's), the 5mW aixiz housing, a driver( a lava drive) and a power supply?Do the BR's function pretty much the same as a red burner( meaning I could use those guides to build my own?)

I got a DX true 30mW, and its acting pretty funny. Sometimes the beam will be going real good and strong, but other times it will start off really bright, then quickly die down to a very dull spot, the brightness of a cheap red pointer. Is this the unit overheating? Should i give it a duty cycle?
