    new laser show "hot damn"

thanks! it was a really fun show to work on. the music allowed me to work out a different style of laser show than i typically do. it felt nice to experiment a little more than usual.

new laser show "burning down the house"

thanks paul! i'm a talking heads purist and don't generally like tom jones very much, but i thought this cover was a little more musically interesting and would be more fun to program to.

new laser show "burning down the house"

i made a new laser show! This is an abstract laser show to the Tom Jones cover of "Burning Down the House". I'm a huge Talking Heads fan, but I thought this cover might be a little more fun to program a laser show to. Made with LSX using an EtherDream Dac and ct6215 galvos.

    Liquid Sky with 150mw

405nm is pretty much the worst choice of lasers for this application. the human eye is very insensitive to that wavelength so you need lots of power to get good beam effects. a better bet is to use green (532 or 520 are the most common). that way you can turn the power way down for the same...

Wow.. Just Wow... Google is spying on you...

you can't ping a phone that's not connected to wifi / cell / computer. none of these things can happen if a phone is turned off.

    CNC Laser 2017

i built a 60W co2 cnc laser cutter a while back. i can't imagine being satisfied using a low powered 445 multimode diode vs. the higher power and better specs of a co2 laser. here's my rig cutting some paper for an art project i'll post about later. ;)

    Possibly impossible?

if you're going to sacrifice 90% of your power, why not just use a single mode blue or green diode. ;)

    Remember to exercise those argons!

exactly! the rf driver for the pcaom is mounted under the laser. you can see the coax cable coming up from a hole in the breadboard. that's my little holy grail laser with ct620 galvos. such a beautiful little thing: here's a link to some info on pcaoms. they're really the standard for color...
