505nm forest green 14500 sized build.

Good news folks, i've managed to connect the negative in a secure and tidy manner! Turns out all i needed to do was to solder a wire to the negative and let the heatsink pinch the wire. Hope my explanation makes sense, can't provide pictures as i'm not really gonna risk opening the laser for...

Need help building laser module for engraving

Any laser above 500mW...

505nm forest green 14500 sized build.

Strangely enough mine is a case neutral diode. Still, i'd have to isolate stuff properly before messing around with it.

505nm forest green 14500 sized build.

So after killing my sharp 505nm diode a couple weeks back, i decided to just bite the bullet and go for another one. This time i set my sights on a stainless steel 14500 flashlight host from Taobao and searched endlessly for a heatsink that might be able to fit it. Here are the things needed for...

    Laser 303 Disassembly

Seriously, how does one become so naive and ignorant as to think that a 303 style laser would have G2 lens? Ah, that's cringe worthy. All the cringe and inappropriate posts aside, I'm guessing the dude is probably a just teenager/ kid just trying to fit in. I just can't see how an adult would...

PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please sub

There are tons of stuff to be found on taobao. However, it is always risky to buy there as warranty is a PITA. For being a modded diode, I think 560RMB is a good price, just a tad more than the original NUGM03.

Gee is that a fiber coupled IR laser? Sure looks like the beams separate out again after some distance. I'll send you the link of this oddly configured diode through PM in a moment. But since it's a Chinese seller, be prepared for some things to get lost in translation.

Ah I think that must be what they are saying. So yeah there are normal window versions and also ones with fiber couple adaptors. Maybe if a few of these fiber adaptor canned NUGM03s are used with some kind of fiber combiner, we can get multiwatt greens. 🤔 So it ain't a novelty after all.

Nothing of substance but heres a NUGM03 with the ball lens removed and replaced with a standard windowed can. Translation : Product discription: This product originates from a NUGM03 bank disassembly, removed gball lens setup, added normal window can. 2 versions available which are ( "added...

Laser beam brightness vs wavelength: Seeking personal experiences

Was about to post something similar but thankfully i stumbled upon this post first. The laser beam comparison tool says that watt for watt, the 650 red should be 24x brighter than 405 violet. But in my case, they look about the same in terms of brightness. (From comparing my 200mW red and...

Ok just make sure the diode hole isn't enlarged or else your new diode might die fast

It's loosen? What did you use to get the diode out?

    Hello from Malaysia

Yeah that's the first thing I checked, seems like it's ok. Now I've narrowed down the problem to a loose connection around the circular driver, as this little flashlight doesn't really have a driver retaining ring. I'mma add a little spring inside the body to keep the driver pushed against the...

    Hello from Malaysia

https://photos.app.goo.gl/kERvCALmnWmpjrW99 update folks, finally had the time to complete my first build last week. Its still a little inconsistent as the laser can be turned off when shaking it, guess ill just have to rework the soldered joints carefully.

    looking for flashlight hosts

If you have experience buying from Taobao.com i think it's a good place to hunt for hosts. Personally i can't seem to find any Hosts but instead found cheap stainless flashlights, i'm guessing you can just gut the insides and turn it into a laser host. here are two C6 styled ones...

thanks dude, i'll grab some hosts and measure their dimensions if i ever plan to build more lasers.

Did I make the right choice? When I bought the Spartan 1W 447nm?

Not so sure about this since i am also new to lasers and have yet to buy my pair of goggles. The general word around here is just to not go for cheap goggles, so i guess you are fine. If you are really cautious about it i guess you can test your goggles by shining the laser at it and seeing if...

    Need input on host ideas

Hey folks, a newbie here. Need someone to help check if my ideas are valid. I have 2 host build ideas and I need someone to "fact check" if i have got things right. First build is a small 10440 cell host. It is a 12mm*87mm stainless steel host. The main problem i have with this host is of...
