Sharp 1.6w 450nm build in 14500 stainless steel flashlight host.

I have also thought about putting a NUGM03 in such a build but I think I might just aim for the 600mW green Sharp diode. It would be fun to own a set of 3 of these, all with sharp diodes.

Sharp 1.6w 450nm build in 14500 stainless steel flashlight host.

Im not sure about it since i do not own a LPM. I might get the measurements in the future when i return to University. However, if i were to eyeball it, i guess that it is >450nm and >1.3W.

Sharp 1.6w 450nm build in 14500 stainless steel flashlight host.

It's quite normal looking in daytime/under lighting but once it gets dark, its very impressive! It quickly overwhelms the camera sensor on my LG G7. The divergence with a G8 is very small and i can get a small-ish point even at further distances. Good stuff :) So yeah thats about it folks. For...

Sharp 1.6w 450nm build in 14500 stainless steel flashlight host.

It has been 1 year+ since i joined LPF, damn time flies. I still vividly remember seeing jayrob's stainless steel flashlight builds when i first opened my account here, and how in love i was with the smaller form factor builds. After many trial and errors over the year, i now present to you all...

    1,6W 525nm green laser diode

Just completed my 1w green and its already so bright. Seems like we just found our next best green diode. RIP our wallets.

    Shipping lasers from Vietnam

I've done that before, its normal. I waited months due to the current pandemic. It was supposed to reach in early March but instead reached in mid May. I guess things are slow because there could be a short of staff? Anyway, i wish you luck for a speedy delivery, mine was a painfully long wait.

Would you guys know if an eBay "Laser 301/303" would fit a 12mm module?

80mW isn't going to generate a lot of heat, if the host has big enough heatsinks and heat dissipating abilities, you could likely run the laser 24/7. About the 3-element lens, well it's a pretty inefficient lens compared to other single element lens, though it will give good beam shape. You...

Would you guys know if an eBay "Laser 301/303" would fit a 12mm module?

I own two of those 303 lasers, and i can confirm that they do not take standard 12mm modules. In my opinion, it is not worth the work to convert those lasers pointers into accepting a 12mm module because they barely have any heatsink, meaning you diode would probably burn out quickly if you...

Super tiny boost driver for greens.

I found this Taobao around the end of 2019. It really intrigued me due to its small size and specifications. And better yet, it costs lest than 1 USD per driver :D According to the spec sheet, it takes anywhere from 2-7V input, and outputs 6.8V. It is designed to deliver 280mA...

    NEW Laser Diode NDG7D75T 1.4W

I think i found this diode on Taobao. Should be interesting to see a 2w green. https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z2k.11010449.931864.8.2459509d6Lo7Sx&scm=1007.13982.82927.0&id=620911358015&last_time=1592719725

Finally in the 1 watt green club

I can't help much since i'm from Malaysia. For me, buying from Taobao is easy because Malaysia is one of the "officially supported" countries. I'm assuming you are from the US? I don't know any westerners here that buy from Taobao, so there's that. I can suggest a couple options: 1. Contact...

Finally in the 1 watt green club

Nope, i found it on taobao (Chinas ebay) Here is the link for the Lens and the Giant sized lens holder, if anyone wants to replicate this setup for a cheap beam expander. 16mm diameter, 40mm focal length lens...

Finally in the 1 watt green club

Small edit: I have managed to push the copper module flush. Technically its possible but i don't have access to a lathe so i can kiss the idea goodbye  However i am trying to add a 16mm planoconvex lens to the laser, to act as a detachable beam expander. It would give some...

Finally in the 1 watt green club

Oh i left it sticking out a little bit because i am afraid that having it flush would bend the diode pins somehow. In my testing with this host, i have used a 12mm module with a sharp 450nm 1.6w diode and when i pushed it in flush, the diode pins got a little bent. Perhaps i just have to trim...

Finally in the 1 watt green club

Thought that i would share my little project here. Around Feb of this year i ordered a brass host from Tomsk, and a NUGM03 + buck driver from Trinh. Then the corona virus hit and everything was in a mess. Long story short i had to wait extra long to get the host. But now the project is...

Help please, need a ~45-90 degrees round laser beam, how should I go about it?

All you need to do is to defocus the laser pointer by twisting the lens. As simple as that.

Research Group Using Blue Diode Lasers to Fight COVID-19

How is the frequency doubling process achieved? Is the light still coherent laser light after the FD process? Would be sick to have a UV laser for us hobbyists.

    Hello from Singapore :)

Oh, that wasn't the 1W green in the google photos album. It was my 505nm 100mW diy laser. But i did test the goggles with a 1W green and it does make the dot safe to view.

    Hello from Singapore :)

Greetings from further up north. (Im Malaysian) I was the fella that recommended the laser goggles from Taobao. I would totally vouch for them, if you dont mind their shitty design. (It says T-rex on the middle of the goggles lmao). Besides that, the price is around 30myr, which is basically...

Looking for Information on Random Lasers

I've seen the video on the chemical formulary before but i do also remember that he showed off a textbook on lasers. It could be a product of my imagination though.
