The Liberty Cannon!!! Happy 4th of July!

Excellent build/review thread!! Isaac, I am so glad that this worked out for you. One thing you get with custom hosts with cutting edge design; Custom and cutting edge complications. It is worth every frustration, once it all goes together and those photons fire up! Congratulations on your...

    Laser Not Working!

Gun, I am so glad you got it figured out. Isn't it amazing how something as simple as batteries can stump us sometimes?

    Looking to purchase blue pointer...

Yeah, I learned my lesson, long ago, with UltraFires. This particular laser has always run on a Panasonic 3400mAh 18650.

    Looking to purchase blue pointer...

Again, that is if my "calculations" are in any way accurate in the least. I have no real basis in fact of accuracy. I try to keep track of battery charges as a unit of measurement for diode life, as it's a bit easier to track than hours of use. Surprisingly, as I use this at work, it still has...

All my lasers for sale....many good deals.

Is that 405nm the one I built for you?

Good deal i made with my girlfriend ^^

I'm just lucky that she smokes too! HSL, she totally got ideas about this when I chuckled, audibly, and asked me about it. She came to the realization that she's no more ready than I.

Group Buy!! I want a hand in building this too! Not that I will actually get a chance...just sayin'...

    Looking to purchase blue pointer...

Oh, 2W on my M-140 is pretty stressful. But, that laser is my daily-driver at work, and I don't expect a long life out of it. But, I've protected myself with a >400 gram copper heatsink, >12 grams of copper on the driver, and I try to keep the duty cycles to 5 minutes or less. It's a super...

    Looking to purchase blue pointer...

You should look into member ricktrent's lasers. (not an endorsement) He has a selection of outputs and they come in hosts more similar to a WL. He pushes some of those to well over 3W. I can't imagine how short lived one of those diodes would be! Just don't expect him to be able to talk to you...

    Looking to purchase blue pointer...

Fortunately for you, sir, such a thing is possible. Look into Sinner's MS-SSW host, and then come see me about building one for you. If you want a blue burner, multi-mode is the way to go. You could have a >5 minute duty cycle with it and an M-140, about 3 minutes with a 9mm diode.

    Looking to purchase blue pointer...

Single-mode diodes are less powerful. They use less current, and have lower outputs, compared to multi-mode diodes. Their advantages are cost, beam profile/divergence, and ability to use smaller battery packages. Or, you can run 300mA in a PL520 on a 27 hour duty cycle, like myself, by using a...

Firelaser, what kind of specs are you referring to? Outputs vary from one diode to the next, even in single batches. The M-140 is capable of over 2W, the 9mm is capable of 3W+ and more.

You could just as easily grow bored with burning. I have 4 lasers capable of burning, and only one gets regular burning action, and that's at work. I rarely burn anything anymore, and prefer to enjoy the beautiful tight beams on a single mode diode. It's more satisfying to have a nice, pretty...

For the love of your god, do NOT let your g/f near mine!

    Looking to purchase blue pointer...

I regularly build custom lasers with the 520nm direct green diode. It's just as easy to work with as any diode, just more expensive. It doesn't have nearly the power of a DPSS system, but with it so visible, if you're not burning, it doesn't matter. The more you push any diode past it's specs...

Interesting reaction. Mine was just the reverse. I want a frickin robotic spider with fricken lasers built in its head!
  17. scumbagatheist

    Hi, guys!

There are 3 types of green diodes around; 510, 515, 520nm. They all can vary a bit, depending on heat. Diodes are more stable, and reliable than are DPSS lasers. Unless you paid well over $100 for your keychain laser, it's a DPSS. My 520nm SSW runs @ 115mW peak with a G-2 lens on it, and it is...

    Happy Birthday Hak

Congratulations, Len! All the best wishes in the world. May this be your best birthday yet, and fail to compare to all of those to come. Brian
