Just finished my laser, thanks for the tutorial Jay! There's a slight problem though, the thin washer doesn't seem to make good contact with the host. How can I fix this? The laser dims or turns off, when i shake it a bit, it turns back on... :-?

This is my vice, sorry for not resizing it but photobucket is not cooperating atm.

I don't have a bench, and I've twisted it both ways, but then it just gets tighter and it won't budge.

My dad finally bought me a vice and now I can make my first blu-ray laser. Bad news is I can't open the friggen vice, I can twist the metal bit, but the jaws wont budge!!! >:(

When I take off the first lens its still got the weird pattern and its a massive blob as well! :'(

I've tried cleaning the lens's (I took the laser apart) with a micro fiber cloth but no luck :-/

Re: URGENT Cheap Laser sale - help me out! Use a middleman with a laser power meter, to test the output and divergence and I'll buy the green laser. I don't think anybody would buy anything from you if you don't use a middleman mate! :-/

Is $2000 expensive for a laptop in America? Because here in Australia, a decent laptop at the shops is around $2000-$2500... I think if I bought this this same laptop at Harvey Norman, it would probably cost around $2500+. I'm going to use the new laptop for some gaming, and multimedia stuff...
