    CLOSED: Projector - $55 9mm 445nm diodes (0 remaining)

Re: GROUP BUY: Projector - $55 9mm 445nm diodes (~14 remaining) I'm in for 11 diodes + lens holders + modules for my next project. If I don't get to use all of them, I guess I can resell them.

Awesome shots and great video. Isn't the green many times more brighter than the blue in real life?

    Airborne Laser - Hobby edition?

Re: Never has it been so difficult for a 2W laser to pop a balloon... Nice video! What setup are you using to remotely trigger the laser? Running it into the balloon would have done the job quicker. :P

Blue laser light into white light

Interesting, thanks for sharing. What is the tint of the light that is fluoresced?

Blue laser light into white light

Yes, it's similar how LED's work. WL makes a Phosforce attachment, but quite overpriced: Phosforce | Phosphor Laser Flashlight Attachment for Arctic | Wicked Lasers Not sure if an individual has succeeded in a DIY one.

    lazerer.com sending an empty box?

Hmm I would be a little concerned if you didn't use PP. China was on lunar break just a week ago so they may simply be recovering from it.

    lazerer.com sending an empty box?

Lazerer has had a good track record here just until recently he's been somewhat unresponsive. I'd say don't sweat it too much, and after a week or so if he doesn't respond, open a PayPal claim and after a week again, a PP dispute. The declared weight doesn't mean anything, I wouldn't be...

Students Shined a Laser and Blinded Their Fellow - Please Read !

Thanks for sharing. +1 I wonder what the actual output of the pointer is, I think a >5mW must have been used to inflict semi-permanent eye damage. Anyone else think the article's photo looks fake?

    Can't see the beam

If you can't feel the heat, it's definitely outputting less than 100mW. Did you by any chance, put the battery in backwards?

    Hello from Canada

Welcome to LPF! These Uvex ones are amazing for the price too: Uvex S1933X Skyper Safety Eyewear, Black Frame, SCT-Orange UV Extreme Anti-Fog Lens - Amazon.com Although they don't block IR so they're not recommended with green DPSS lasers. If your brother works in a machine shop, that's an...

Who wants to take this project on; host for 15W IR C-Mount Diode

Haha, I just noticed that parallel part. He probably meant series? (I hope.)

    Aviators being taken advantage of?!?

I don't wear glasses but I think the $120 isn't about the protection but more towards the style and frame. Obviously a $9 Uvex would work too, but others would look at you funny. :D

Who wants to take this project on; host for 15W IR C-Mount Diode

Wow seems like you're quite experienced with building large diode arrays. What other projects have you worked on?
