Looking to buy Older Wicked Lasers

Umm, I think I have a Photon 75 in new condition and a really old WL GLP that's actually a CNI (That's REAL old...) ... Still confused as to why someone would want these but hey, wha'ever you go...

    Hello.....and I'm addicted to lasers

Yeah, this is how it started for me... "I'll get into lasers again -- I need a cheaper hobby." .... That didn't go quite as planned.

    All Hail the King

I try not to think about some of the numbers as far as 'cash spent' goes :) So, what exactly is the barrier to entry to be in said.. club? :O

    Donating to LPF

I know there's other explanations, but, in short, traffic. LPF is big. REALLY big. Bigger than the folks who post - posters are a small portion. So, mostly - traffic.

    [FEELER] CNI GLP <5mW 561nm & other wavelength's

Yeah I would :P If we have a while on this, I definitely am interested in PGL-IIIs, was just kinda looking at cash flow before jumping on one or so :)

    [FEELER] CNI GLP <5mW 561nm & other wavelength's

Alex, is there a reason the PGL-III options were taken off the list? Coulda sworn they were there for a bit..?

    [FEELER] CNI GLP <5mW 561nm & other wavelength's

Re: [Interest Thread] CNI <5mW GLP "561nm/671nm/405nm/685nm/473nm/589nm/594nm" 561 and a maybe on the 473. ... And definitely on any other obscure wavelengths they can do :P

Laser delivered to wrong ZIP. What do I do?

Well, okay, a few things here. 1) If it's delivered to someone else's house, and they take possession of it, they have no responsibility or legal requirement to return it, as far as I know. It's also not the USPS's liability since it was simply addressed wrong. Though since some people are not...

    I think I goofed.

Remember also little things like an insecure driver connection can do this... There's a capacitor on the output of the driver. If the connection to the diode is intermittent, the capacitor will charge, upon disconnection to the diode, and blast the poor diode with a pulse upon reconnection...

    Vacuum Tube (Thermionic Valve) Fun!

Thanks for the info on that -- I wonder if I could put in some kind of time delay on the amp design.

    LPC-840 discussion thread

Yeah, I doubt they're actually making clones but - as far as Chinese sellers misrepresenting, that happens A LOT - mainly because they know how prohibitive it is to send stuff back to China from here, and they'll count on people in the US just taking the loss instead. A while back I 'tried' a...

    Vacuum Tube (Thermionic Valve) Fun!

I have ONE mercury rectifier, NOS NIB, that I'm wanting to make an amp with. It's an 866A, and I'm hoping it gives some blue. I want to use that, along with two thoriated-filament (white glow) "pancake" tubes, that I've seen some other builds with but for the life of me I *cannot* remember nor...

[Dual 411nm 1335mW] 2D MAG with PBS cube & Newport mounts.

Have kept a lookout, I don't think any of mine are, unfortunately.. I know Qumefox ended up with one at something crazy like 418, and he has our spectrometer right now. I bet there are some 420+ out there.

Buying experience with both DTR and Sinner

DTR is boss, and if I could rep him more, I would. I've likely been annoying to the guy and he still answers questions (sorry DTR!) - hard to go wrong with him, definitely trustworthy to deal with; moreso than most companies I deal with.

[Dual 411nm 1335mW] 2D MAG with PBS cube & Newport mounts.

Holy crap. That, it's like.. a merging of being able to see the internals of HeNe, with the power of diodes, and the... exotic wavelength..ness... of an exotic wavelength. 411nm.... o_o .... 411nm... c_c +rep

Break in. A reminder to make sure your doors are locked...

This bothers me on a very basic level. I think it would with a lot of people here, as we're all builders and researchers and collectors - in other words, we kinda put a lot into our hobby here, so the idea of someone just "taking shit" is disturbing. My neighbors hate the fact that I have...

    LPC-840 discussion thread

Re: Most powerful Red Single mode diode that isnt C mount? Yeah, Red is where I'm lacking too - but it does seem that development has kinda fallen behind in that spectrum. So I'm on the lookout as well; though most high powered reds make the 445 beams look awesome by comparison. (My old...

Why do I gotta fall off the damn laser train so often...

Got my NDB7676 build from DTR, 2.03w ~465nm, feel like i'm back in the game :) Definitely have to look at what Sam has for sale, too, and what Dragonalsers is doing.

Why do I gotta fall off the damn laser train so often...

@Laserman - I'll PM you, because it ends up being a 'sensitive issue', but I guess it doesn't matter to a lot of us since CNI isn't as big of a participant as they once were, here. @Sigurthur - When you say orange is becoming easier to source, is that new production? Or just an old stash found...

Why do I gotta fall off the damn laser train so often...

Very well, sir! Ran it again today just because. Next diode to conquer will be in the 480-490 range but I know that's still a tough one, and I missed some chances on that. :) But it's that, and then maybe by the time that's satisfied it'll make sense to re-approach some of the manufacturers...
