I have tested the laser, output is low and threshold is around 2.5A and output remains low till 5A. Most likely it needs a pump replacement, don’t think it’s a misalligned as it’s all rock steady inside. I tried to unscrew back of the module and no success. Pics:

Here are some pics. Managed to open laser head and found out that glue is like a rock there, it would be hard to get inside of the module. :thanks:

This driver has 6 pots, thick wire is LD. But I don’t know how to power up the board. I’ll be back from vacation on Saturday and try to power this thing up. :san: Edit: I see mid pot has no glue on it. Might be dead LD , who knows. Laser head has all warranty stickers on it. So I guess that fine

Yes, quality is good, everything is well made in those, beam specs may vary device to device.

It’s 10-50mw unit, no higher output. Description clearly says it’s above 0.5milliwatts! I have two of those units and they work nice. Good to experiment with DPSS and realignment. It does not have output collimation optics and dot will be large.

Why boost driver? Oclaro voltage is around 2V... I think 1.25A is far overdrive. You should use buck driver for red diodes. Most likely diode is dead already

Paul, im wondering is that 20mm Copper Module enough to heatsink Diode If duty cycle is less than 60 seconds? It gets barely warm at 200mA.

It’s around 40-80mw. They won’t put higher power 405nm diodes in 303 laser. You can get same from eBay way cheaper. Site is scam. Next time avoid those resell sites. I wouldn’t suggest messing around with those 303 lasers, as for entry level laser, it’s a good choice. Make sure you have safety...

It’s the same on most of Sharp diodes. I’ve got same pattern on my 495nm diode.
