    Where does this wire go?

I will stay out of this as I have never used a dorcy, the MDXL is another commonly used flashlight host. The part you are soldering too is the LED emitter heatsink, on the MDXL you throw that away and build the driver on the circuit board that is in the host underneath it..... It would be...

    Where does this wire go?

Re: Where does this wire go on my dorcy mod? It is a long time since I did a flashlight mod (I have never modded a Dorcy) but you appear to be soldering your LD to the LED heatsink, is that right? I have always discarded that and soldered to the circuit board underneath it on MXDL hosts...

Tutorial: Build Tips - 7 Color Laser Using The White Fusion Kit... from sightfx!

Re: Build Tips - 7 Color Laser Using Adjustable Sled Mount/Heatsinks It is good practice to connect one end of the resistor track to the wiper in case the pot breaks down for some reason (usually the wiper stops contacting the track) the driver will go to high resistance (low ma out) rather...

    Can't make the diode work[help]

Sorry but no, you need to earth yourself, if you work near your computer loosen a screw in the back, wrap the bared end of a wire around it and do it up again. Bare the other end and wrap it around your wrist whilst handling your LD. Regards rog8811

    DIY Homemade laser diode driver

If that is what the sum gives you, yes... realistically use 3 x 1ohms in series and you will be close enough. There is another current thread discussing this very subject, I cannot remember what the title or forum was, try search. Regards rog8811 Edit, as I happened upon it again, here you go...

laser diode help red vs blue

You can cut white paper with a Blu-ray, I have never managed that with a red. Regards rog8811

    Batteries?

I think you answered your own question really..... let me just adjust what you wrote.. You could get some expensive batteries that will last a reasonable amount of time between charges verus longer lasting batteries @ a lower price from the same manufacturer. I know which I would get. Regards...

    DIY Homemade laser diode driver

All you need to do is use a lower value resistor. On the laser driver page of my website (link to site below) is a section on calculating the resistor for a specific output. Regards rog8811

    DIY Homemade laser diode driver

It is unlikely that Daedal (DDL) will answer this so I will have a go.. Could you put up a photo of what you have built, a nice clear one, then we may be able to help you out. If you are needing to ground the pot you have something set up wrongly, have you checked to see if the ref voltage is...

    Can't make the diode work[help]

That is a very sweeping statement, do you have more information than the rest of us? If so what is F**ked about the driver? There is nothing wrong with the DDL as long as you do a few simple steps.... in fact exactly the same steps you would use to set a Rkcstr up. Regards rog8811

    Whats wrong with my diode?

How sure are you that your pot is the correct value? If you have 100ohm you can get away with no fixed resistor ( the 3ohm mentioned above [resistor ~5cents....LD ~$15:undecided:]). If it is 1kohm you will kill the LD everytime as all the adjustment is in the last little bit of the pot and with...

    Can't make the diode work[help]

Help us out here, what driver are you using and as already asked, how are you measuring the current/how did you set the current? Regards rog8811

Tutorial: Build Tips - 7 Color Laser Using The White Fusion Kit... from sightfx!

Re: Build Tips - 7 Color Laser Using Adjustable Sled Mount/Heatsinks :) The progress has been amazing on this project, I think you and sightfx have done some great work to get this so far advanced. There is no reason now that anyone who wants a 7 colour laser cannot make one successfully...

Help - How much current to set on a 60mW Green diode/module?

Make yourself an LM317 constant current driver with 100 ohm pot and a 2ohm fixed resistor, supply it with 6 volts.Put a 1ohm resistor between the supply and the driver to measure the current. Connect it to your LD (having tested the driver first) start at max resistance and gradually adjust it...

I finsihed my laser: but theres a problem

Having watched the movie I agree, you have an LED there I am afraid, how did you set the driver current? And did you short the output of the driver before adding the LD? Also at no point do you try to focus as suggested, you appear to just wind it in a bit and wind it out a bit, you need to...

I finsihed my laser: but theres a problem

The difference between focused and flashlight on a blu-ray is a few degrees of turn, if you go too far, too fast you will miss the focus point due to what others above have said about 405mn and human eyes. If you put the lens unit (the black plastic bit, with the thread) into the front of the...
