    A Question Anout BigLasers.com

Any seller who claims 5MW from a pointer is probably one to avoid.

    445nm 5W+ Beam divergence?

Point any of the high power blue diodes into the night sky and it will look like a blade. The beam will be thin on one axis and diverging pretty rapidly on the other. The x140 diodes weren't too bad but the 7 watt diodes. Pure crap beam quality without correction.

Has anyone opened a Thor Ultra or an Odin 5 watt?

Build yer own! That will teach you the skills you'll need if you want/need to change the diode in the one you have now.

A scale modeler in need of you LP experts

Your project sounds really cool. I'd love to see the finished ship with low power beams in a light fog.

A scale modeler in need of you LP experts

Moar power! But seriously, more power=brighter beam. The problem is that anything that gives you a nice visible beam will be a danger to the eyes. If the beam reflects back towards someone, or is pointed at them them, the potential exists for instant (before you can blink) eye damage...

    DTR?

    Thank you!

    DTR?

Perhaps I wasn't paying attention, but what happened to DTR's laser shop? I just went there and it's all dead links :-(

    Help! Highlasers.com and Laserto.com Mystery

NOS seems a little unlikely but if Soky went outta the laser business they might have sold off their entire stock including parts.

    FS : Super tiny violet 1w 405nm

It's been mildly entertaining, but if Avery or WILD is online I'd like to ask for a bit of moderation here. I think this has gone far enough. *Clicked to post and I see you've beaten me to it. Thanks WILD*
  12. WizardG

    Price difference... why ?

The one advantage of some of the 405 diodes is that they're single mode so they can be focused to a much smaller point for very fine engraving work. If you wanna do laser scrimshaw they're the way to go.

    The unexpected 593.5

Your price on this wavelength is very reasonable in that host. Nice work!

When do you need a heat sink? When the diode is on.

    Blue laser 74W NUBM35 Portabl?

All right. With the 12709 rated for 86 watts that should definitely help a little. But that 86 watt figure presumes the 'hot' side of the thing is held at a constant 25C. YMMV

    Blue laser 74W NUBM35 Portabl?

And how many watts is that peltier cooler rated for?
