JDSU 2214-30SLQTA Argon laser testing and PSU Tweak

some of the jdsu tubes have metal collars for just that.

JDSU 2214-30SLQTA Argon laser testing and PSU Tweak

looks like the mirrors could be misaligned. on the jdsu heads, they are glued and hard to access while power on but maybe you could jam piece of plastic through one of the vent holes to nudge the mounts and maybe get a tiny bit of 488nm? they come with these little collars usually for adjusting...

    Tunable Helium Neon Laser

yup. I swept through the entire range. I also tried using another hene for alignment but i got nothing out of the tunable. i also cleaned the tuning prism and brewster so there should be no issues there.

    Tunable Helium Neon Laser

the previous owner had the brick let out the magic smoke before he could get it lasing. he replaced the brick and that's about where I am now, haha. i'm planning on giving it a good helium soak along with some other tubes I have laying around and then hopefully get some pretty coherent photons.

    Tunable Helium Neon Laser

hey hey, I recently picked up a tunable HeNe from a friend and I just wanted to share. Currently, it doesn't lase, and has all sorts of problems, but, I am working on fixing it. I'll updated this if I get any coherent photons out of it :) I'm hoping to get 594nm, 604nm, 612nm and 632.8nm...

    Krypton Argon Ion Laser

yes. I believe all the lines that are on the highlighter are green/blues. 568nm is somewhere on my hand

    Krypton Argon Ion Laser

Heres the beams on a fluorescent highlighter. Sorry for the poor image quality but you can almost see some of the deeper blue/violets.

    Krypton Argon Ion Laser

I think I got around 15 with a lot of them being violet/blue and barely even visible to the eye. but the addition of those brilliant 3 green lines is really amazing. a huge increase in brightness to the original spot. I also threw a HeNe OC in the mix and I got a bit of 676nm but I cant get that...

    Krypton Argon Ion Laser

I recently tried some tricks with a second OC and I got a TON more lines!!

    Inside a butterfly package

I recently busted an IR butterfly doohickey and I thought I might as well tear it open. Kinda neat inside. I mounted a piece of acrylic to the top so I can have a cool viewing window. :)

    Krypton Argon Ion Laser

i run all my argon lasers for about 30-60 minutes monthly just to get max life outta them. if u run it consistently for a bit you might get the red line to appear more. one of my argons that was run at 10 amps for 2k hours and then left on a shelf for a couple years. when i got it barely wanted...

    Krypton Argon Ion Laser

wack. do you know how hard it was run before you got it?

    Krypton Argon Ion Laser

yup its a melles griot 643 that was refurbished in 2011 and the hour meter was cleared and never started so i don't know the true hours. it sucks to see that yours is dying since there are so few of these out there. how many hours does yours have on it right now?

    Krypton Argon Ion Laser

ive found from about 540-570nm the stupid sensor just thinks hmMMMM aLl sAmE gReEn. i'd love to see how film works though.

    Krypton Argon Ion Laser

it's definitely better in person. the camera ruins 568nm and a bunch of the argon lines.

    FS: bluray 900mW+ and ~1100mW+

    i can help

    Krypton Argon Ion Laser

gas lasers are the best things ever. This is my krypton argon named Tofu. i'll let the pictures speak for themselves If you're wondering how I got that super rich yellow, I used the HR from a regular argon to block the blues and all I get is 568nm and 647nm which make that really nice...

    1994 670nm Pointer

i doubt it's the oldest but it's certainly my favorite red pointer. i've been trying to find a handheld hene pointer but those things are so rare. i have a bunch of gas lasers that are older than this thing and i could probably jam a small helium neon in this host to make my own if i really...

    1994 670nm Pointer

hey hey, I recently scored this super old laser pointer on ebay and I kinda want to show it off. It's super clunky and 670nm is very deep and nice to look at. i have a picture comparing it to 632.8, 650 and then 670 on the right. The camera makes it look more pink but in person its just very...
