    testing 12x diode

Instead of starting another thread I'll just pile on here... I just finished putting together a 12x 405 w/flexdrive V5 & powered by a Panasonic 18650 from LarryDFW - I was hoping to get 400mA but it wouldn't go any higher than 310mA. I'm getting 353mW steady output from the 12x I got from The...

    Cajun Lasers

Isn't it great? Way back when I got my first laser, a 5mW HeNe, as a gift, Circa 1983, I never would have imagined that one day I'd make my own 1.2Watt 445 nm Laser in a short time, for ~$60 Makes me want to donate again... *edit* Donated! Cheers! cad602

    In search of cooling expertise

Hi again, I am interested in getting a cooling device for cooling lab style projects, like the one rhd uses in the "Re: It is Here.!!!!! 300mW "635nm" Mitsubishi..... " thread. (Hope that link works) I was going to PM rhd for some information on this subject then thought "why not make a thread...

    StoneTek Electronics-Is Greg away?

At 9:12am CST, I called and got this. Not even a ring but an intercept from the telco itself. The telco's message: "The person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time, please try your call again later." Now, I do have a friend in San Antonio Texas...I could ask him if he's...

    StoneTek Electronics-Is Greg away?

I was giving Pontiacg5 a chance to make contact after he implied that he might be able to get in touch with Greg or his family (Daughter). I really don't want to disrespect anyone and I thought Pontiacg5's response was basically asking me to wait. I need someone like Laserbee, Daguin, or...

    StoneTek Electronics-Is Greg away?

Wha - who - me? I'm just explaining how cell phones can dial anywhere in the USA "for free." I don't have any pending business with the guy, but I suppose if I'm the only interested USA resident who has a cell phone, then sure, I'll give his # a call when there is a break in...

    1,8W 808nm from DinoDirect @ $172,37 each!

I guess paypal makes it too easy to get your money back when the product is not working? Or is there is real effort on paypal's part to stay away from lasers? I haven't seen this policy enacted by anyone else (well, I'm not aware of any). cad602

    StoneTek Electronics-Is Greg away?

I'd give it a little while longer, only because even though I got back on the grid Monday night - there are people close to me who won't get their power back on until this coming Saturday. Of course I have a generator so it didn't stop me but most people don't have a backup. :can: That's of...

    PHR-805T barely lighting up....need assistance

It really doesn't get any easier. Just check out This Thread and This thread. Those and other threads all point to using that dummy load...put it in place of the diode and you won't fry any like I did before I vowed to read all I could on dummy test loads...and I fried a few... It's real easy...

Are reasonably priced 12x's really that hard to find?

Wow! Scammers need to be stabbed with chop sticks. I'm sincerely grateful that guys like you are watching out for us in taking what seems to be a considerable risk. I think it's time I attempted to give some rep... Edit: that was easier than I thought! Thanks, cad602

Are reasonably priced 12x's really that hard to find?

I only know that a lot of people's diodes have died quickly when they run them that high..but I suppose duty cycle is everything and a little TLC and a massive chunk of aluminum would help.. Maybe one day there will be such a thing as a 40x blu-ray player! I'm really looking forward to the...

will this diy driver work for this diode?

I've used 9volts before with mixed results - it drained so fast once that I changed the resistor in my driver - but I also changed the battery and *poof* -$40...I then used two 9V's in parallel and it worked a little better - But, I couldn't get the current I needed consistently, so I went and...

    Hi ! I'm new

For ten days I walked & drove all around Florence and I have never seen such beauty in agriculture and archietecture. Welcome and have fun! Not too harrass, (or kiss a-) but the stickies here REALLY are worth reading since they have the foundation you need to learn how to build your own, or...

Which is brightest: an AAA battery laser or a 18650 one?

You could always just tell him you paid $15 from DX or whatever....just get the better laser and you will secretly feel supreme (&be supreme). cad602
