FS: Huge 1" Crackle Glass Uranium Marbles!

I want one! where do I send the cash? :D

WTB: High Power 40 watts Laser System

You left out one critical piece of information. How much money do you want to spend on this? You could easily get a 50W q-switched frequency doubled yag that would be visible and cut a whole load of stuff. But you're looking at a bit of money.

This is sooo wrong (posible eydamage involved)

Looks like they were defocused quite a bit from the occasional beam you see in the fog :D

    HENE laser

Ahh ok. I think it's glowing in the big part just because he isn't powering it with a proper HeNe power supply. Probably just some sort of HV source. Mine glow in the big part if I bring them close to a tesla coil or anything similar :D

CNI Portable Green 500mW + Multimedia

In all fairness, viasho and CNI make really really really nice units. I've ordered directly from them many times for myself and others and have never had a problem, 99% of the units make well over their stated power. I know that opto and other distributors take advantage of the fact that they...

    Z-fold links?

Here is a perfect example of what you will need to build. This is a ring cavity with a bi-axially pumped Nd:YVO4 (like yours is designed to be) This setup uses an LBO rather than a KTP, but the setup will be the same.

    Z-fold links?

Yup you got it right for the most part. The only error is that the pump light doesn't have to be at 45 degrees and it won't exit in line with the crystal out the other side. The only thing that matters is getting the light focused into the crystal. The angle isn't super important as long as it...

    building green DPSS

if you are using separate crystals, try cooling the Nd:YVO4 and heating the KTP. Those are 'ideal' conditions.

    CNI lasers = DL 95 vs X100

They are both probably 75mW units from CNI... ordering directly from the manufacturer will get you more bang for your buck

    Z-fold links?

I'm going to say that your real limit with a linear cavity is going to be around 1W... anything above that will probably be at least a "V" cavity. You should get a program called "SNLO" (search for it.... You'll probably find it. If not I'll post a link a bit later) It lets you design a...

    building green DPSS

If you want REAL power, you focus the output into the crystal. Putting the crystals right on the die gets a pretty small beam into the diode, but not as small as you could get with a lens in front. The goal is the get the most energy density into the crystal as possible.

Yeah alizee is one fine piece of ass.

    HENE laser

if it glows it should lase... It's hard to tell in the picture... is it glowing down in the tiny capillary that goes down the middle of the tube, or is it glowing inside the big part of the tube?

    Z-fold links?

I would worry about finding the right optics first. Getting mounts and holders is pretty easy, optics are the hard part.

DX Pen Issue - The one where only the IR part of the laser works

The crystals are fine. Your diode is dead. The only other option is that the crystals came loose. But those little pens have no where near the amount of pump power needed to put a good burn on a crystal.

    Z-fold links?

I would strongly suggest trying a linear cavity first. In the picture the purple is your 1064nm intracavity beam, which will also have a bit of 532nm mixed in. The green line is your OC and the black lines are all HR mirrors. The purple block is the vanadate, pumped with 40W on each side for a...

    Z-fold links?

This is a very very very (and I do mean very... there will be other components in your cavity, this is the basics) simplified version of what you're going to need to build to get anywhere near 10W of green. You probably wont be able to find those optics used, nor will you be able to find a...

    Z-fold links?

The vanadate you have is a good one, provided there is no knicks or burns on the faces of the crystal. I think it is water cooled though, right? I think some of them were (it would have water passages in it) and some weren't. I'm pretty sure it comes from a spectra physics millenia laser. Like...

    [Help] 50mW Green Laser Pointer
