Has anyone tried using a laser to convince pigeons to stay away from the house? We've got a handful that have taken up residence here and I want to find an easy way to convince them to move somewhere else. What color and power laser would work best?

I've never tried a laser for this. Pigeons wanted to nest on a downspout section attached to my house. I put a large rubber spider (8") there and the pigeons never came back ... If you could get a big IR laser (CO2 maybe), you could cook the pigeons ... Noisy messy things they are. Seriously, I'd recommend the rubber spider ...

I'd never use a laser against an animal...

Easy way? Tell them the house next to yours has free corn and hot nasty horny crows :D

If crows or geese see anything above 100mw of green, they freak out and leave. Most often they remember and don't come back. I would never shine a laser on an animal. You just have to shoot the beam across their field of view, in front of them (but nowhere close to them). It may also work with pigeons.

Pigeons are not animals. They are a scourge that will damage your house if they are allowed to stay. Their crap is corrosive.
