Is it possible to change the pump diode in a cheap ebay green laser for a higher powered one for more 532nm output? If it is then it would be too good to be true?:p

The video show how to exchange the whole green module. The TS want to exchange just the diode.

It is possible to switch just the diode for more output but you don't know if the driver is capable to deliver the higher current or the output will be the same.
Buy the 808nm diode for couple bucks and let us know if it works out.

what if i build a more POWERFUL driver!

ehhh... i wouldnt buy another 808nm if i dont know how its gonna turn out, i like my couple of buck right in my little pocket:D

I guess you can go to a computer repairing store and ask them if they have and dis-functional dvd/cd burners/players

Sure it is possible to exchange the diode. I´m repairing green modules by exchanging a death diode, but like already said. The cristals need to be realigned then and must be able to handle the more power. A low quality cristal set that for example peaks at 100mW will just output max 100mW no matter how much IR you are pumping into it. The more IR you will pump into it the more it will turn the to much IR into heat.

I think I will have to do some pics and upload them into a separate threat.
