last night i was watching my little sister shes 5 and she loves my lasers and making different effects with me. so she asked me if there was some way we could make something to control what was being "drawn" on the wall (she meant the dot being shined on the wall) so i went looking around my house and came up with a two old PC case fans, some misc potentiometers, 12V supply, mirrors, and some epoxy. And this is what we came up with....

not bad for a 30 min project with a bunch of crap i had in my junk box :yh:

Cool! I've been meaning to make one of these for the longest time, and
have just been to lazy.:yabbem:

I keep hoping to come across some small front surface mirror.

A harddisk platter is great, but to big.:(

When I read "1W" next to "my 5 years old sister" my toenails curl up though.:undecided:

i had another motor on it but i didnt have another pot so i just hooked the motor up to a switch but the power supply couldnt handle the extra motor and everything slowed down so i just cut it off. this was just a fun little experiment i made with my little sister. dont really want to put much money into it because i just ordered parts to build a pocket 4 motor spiro! i cant wait for them to get here and have a spare day laying around :D

Thats some pretty fun stuff, I'm sure you little sister loved it!
Could you post a pick of your set-up? It's always nice to see cheap, quick set-up's like this.;)

she loves playing with this thing because its so easy to control (just turning some knobs!) i cant wait to build a nice compact 4 motor one to make some really interesting designs.....

now for the setup like i said before this was done really fast and really cheap ($0!)
