With my 50mw i tested in on my skin and it makes a little tingle, so i bet people at work that it would burn them.

Whats the risk? Its not like it will spontaneously burn a hole in their hand lol. . . or will it?

When I saw it firsthand, it looked HORRID! LOL! Not to mention the hundreds of marks on his hand. I think he needs an intervention

Yes, almost as foolish as people who wish to compare laser safety to gun safety when the consequences of misusing them aren't comparable whatsoever.

In all honesty...I tend to compare it to gun safety. However there are differences and I am well aware of this.

Take a picture of your arm now. I want to see what it looks like as your body is trying to heal itself. :)

You work with guns for a living. It's only natural you would relate to that :p and having "differences" is quite an understatement :p

When i first got my 1W 808nm i put my finger right up to the diode (with no lens) to see if i could feel the heat... 0.5 seconds later, answer is yes lol. but i would not focus it and put my hand there. are goggles with a rating of OD4 good enough for 1W lasers? i saw someone with OD12 goggles :-/.

Enjoy your cancer!

How many people are going to post that 405nm causes cancer? It DOES NOT cause cancer, several members more specialized in the area have speculated it is no where near the part of the spectrum that causes cancer. But I can understand why guys on the forum wouldn't want this posted, I guess it does give off a bad image, even though it is quite interesting to see a laser tattoo :)
