There is no arguing... just need to accept the fact..
I'm cool with that....

BTW... Happy Holidays...

Jerry

I think the pictures over emphasize it a bit. In person it's actually very very small, only about 7 or 8mm. From a normal standing distance it actually just looks like someone drew "lol" with a pen.

Happy Holidays, I can't believe Christmas is already tomorrow!

Man... PL... are you on drugs tonight.... wake up and smell the coffee..
There are members that are under 10 years old here on the Forum...
What kind of message are you sending them...
Nice Xmas Gift....:gj:
Lost all respect for you Dude...:tsk:
To each his own...

Hey mikeeey..
Its OK... you did something that was not too cool but I hope there are
no complications.... I know you understand what I'm trying to say...

Have a nice Xmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours.... ;)

I just don't think a laser forum, or even a public forum in general for that matter is a place for a 10 year old. When I was 10 I played video games, played with friends, and built LEGOS...not lasers and electronics.

I think I remember a few months back a thread talking about a minimum age limit for the forum..but that wouldn't help anything, I mean look at any porn site for example.. lol

Well I suppose if you count alcohol, then yes, I've had a couple glasses of wine, so yes, I am on drugs.

Just to clarify, I wasn't suggesting any of the other methods, those are actually dangerous... On the other hand, I highly doubt a ten year old is going to get far trying to mark their arm with a laser... The excruciating pain would probably put an end to that pretty quick. You could cause a lot more permanent damage to your body by hitting yourself in the head with the laser than you could by burning your flesh. You could do much worse damage with a pencil.

As for the site having 10yo's, technically they shouldn't be here... Any site that collects information and allows users to post is not allowed to accept registrations from anyone under the age of 13... Besides, those same kids could go to bmezine and find about ten thousand more grotesque ways of giving themselves permanent injuries... This is about as bad as carving your name in your arm using your fingernail, except at least a laser is sanitary and can't lead to infection.

Sure, it's stupid, but at least it's not really dangerous.

I very republican belief I have there.
I'm really not posting them to show what I've done to my arm, but the power of this laser. I was just really surprised I was able to do this without sharpie.

I'm happy to say tho, that with no evidence to back it up, I'm pretty sure there was no harm done to my arm.
That is about the most irresponsible/juvenile thing I've heard in
a while...

You hand over a potentially harmful idea to the members on this
Forum and take no responsibility for your actions or for any
negative consequences that may arise from this idea being used by others...

Honestly are you telling me laserbee that you have never, ever burnt yourself with one of your lasers or pointed one at your skin on purpose?
I think this has been blown out of proportion.
everyone at some point in their laser building/owning experience will point a laser at themselves its not like he has exposed the forum to a horrible new idea which will cause mass harm.
Gees Louise.

Hey Spaceman...

Yes I am honestly telling you that I have NEVER purposely shone a Laser
at myself....
I'm not a child and know that there is a potential danger
to do so... and Yes... before you ask...I always use Laser Safety
Goggles when using Lasers.

Yeah... I guess everyone at some point will also stick their hand in a
spinning propeller and a raging fire... That sounds about right....

@ PL.... I was celebrating and had a few myself last night...

What I am trying to say is..........

It's like the guy that purposely jumps off a 2 story building with an
umbrella as a parachute and lives through it without major injuries...

It may not have been harmful to him... but it is still a bad idea to
promote...

Happy Holidays and a Merry Xmas to all...

Wow this has gone crazy. I can't see the problem. He removed the part where he says "go ahead and do it if you want," but you haven't removed it from the quote so people can still see the message

And 99% of laserists have burnt themselves - its just a stage in life, like learning that the stove is hot.

These are the reasons that the fda doesnt want people messing with lasers. what if he decided to experiment with burning off his eye lashes and got a focused shot to the eye? Would you still not see a problem with it? He would be able to see out of that eye again (period)

Hey Rob...
No it has not gone crazy... and there is no problem... Mikeeey understands
the negativity of what he posted... and that is a good thing...;)

I have never removed something that I have quoted in error...
I have apologized for any error that I may have made but I have
never removed those quoted words....
There is no hiding what I said... not even by me...

That is just plain childish and dumb... let me change that just a bit...

" And 99% of laserists have shone a laser into their eyes without Safety
Goggles - its just a stage in life, like learning that you can't see for the
rest of your life."

You know.... all the "expert" laserists that still think this is a good idea...
go for it... It's not my skin...
You won't see me mutilating my body with an unproven method like a
standard high powered 405nm Blu-Ray Laser's beam...

Enjoy the smell..... and consequences...
(shaking head in disbelief... walking away)

@ mikeeey and HumanSymphony...

Exactly... I'ts just common sense...;)

LOL why would someone experiment burning off their EYE lashes.

to answer your question:

LOL why would someone experiment burning off their eyelashes (LOL on their skin).

It's irresponsible use of a laser no matter how anyone dresses it up.

yes, it's irresponsible, but changing the location from arm to eyes is starting to take it too far. There is no point in stating what didn't happen, let's just focus on what DID happen.

Yes, almost as foolish as people who wish to compare laser safety to gun safety when the consequences of misusing them aren't comparable whatsoever.
