Theres the same laser on both sites, but Its cheaper on DX. But I want to get it from rayfoss.com, because it seems more legitimate. What should I do? Its the >200mW red laser... Focusing head, etc.

If you just want a cheap burner, o-like is the way to go like the above poster said. If you want a different style or a waterproof burner, then rayfoss is the place to buy from.

DX takes forever to ship, it could take a few weeks to get your laser.
O-like and Rayfoss lasers should get to you in about 6-10 days.

Alright. I am getting the $73 >200mW red laser, waterproof, and it looks pretty durable. I dont like the laser pens. I bought a $6 green 5mW off ebay, just to show off. Here in canada, even if the power does fluctuate, for about 3 minutes while warming up, it still gets peoples attention pretty good :p Also, I'm getting an extra battery, and I'm considering getting a tripod... I mean, it comes out to exactly $103 cdn, Thats reasonable, for a red laser. Also, on a >200 mW red, i've heard you can see the beam faintly in daylight. Overcast, more or less. I cant seem to find any videos where I can see them.. Any ideas? Thanks alot!

And also, those lasers do look good, from o-like, but the only 2 problems. Its not >200 mW, just 180 -200... And Is the price in canadian currency, or USD?

Also, they said that under normal conditions (Laser only on under a minute at a time, and no dropping, or heat, or cold, etc) that it should last quite a while, and if ANYTHING went wrong, they'd fix it free. or replace.

Those 180-200mW from O-like can be used with 3.6v cr2 batteries (widely available on the web, around $1 each on Ebay or like $12US for 4pcs w/charger) - that will bump your output to well over 220mW (mine from O-like are at 333mW and 340mW).

Unlike other lasers, these specific models use an unregulated driver, so the small voltage increase will give a big power increase without sacrificing diode lifespan!

That right there is pretty convincing. I'll definatley have a look at those O-Like lasers... Thanks, alot! And alo, whats the difference between the two lasers from o-like, and what is the currency is the pricing?? USD or CDN (Links up on older posts) Also where specifically can I find those 3.6 V batteries? I cannot see them on ebay for under $5 each

This one? (see attachment)

Yeah, it's totally waterproof. I have brought it to 8ft deep in a swimming pool. It's pretty durable as well, but, I did drop it pretty hard once, and had to re-align the washers in the waterproof switch, but i dropped it hard. you won't be disappointed. It burns really well, just like a dilda, but waterproof. :)
But, as far as the beam during the day? Not without smoke, and you won't be able to see the beam during the day like a green laser, but it will burn. :eg:

And also, A readdy noobish question, but if it has an IR filter, will it still burn stuff? I've heard that its the concentrated laser beam that actually burns it, not the infrared, as its scattered... Do red ones even need IR filters? Does o-like have IR filters? What about rayfoss? Sorry for all the questions, guys. I'm kinda new to lasers of this power, and I only have $116 CAD to spend, and I dont wanna get something I dont want. I appreciate it alot guys :) Thats the last one :p

No prob w/the ???s, that's what the forums are all about!

Red diodes generate no IR (as do DPSS lasers like 473nm blue and 532nm green) so no problems there. The O-like reds burn like crazy (especially with the 3.6v batteries) when focused, you'll be happy with that capability, I'm sure... Keep in mind, though, that red beams aren't as visible as greens, so the daylight beam will be almost nonexistant, nighttime beam will be faint but definitely visible, and the burning power will always be there, just focus and go!

Alright, just ONE more easy one. Compared to a 5mW green laser, would the 200mW red be brighter or dimmer? Thanks again! :p
