Hey fellow laser enthusiasts, would anybody be interested in a meet up around Toronto of things that look cool at night (Lasers and flashlights in particular)?

I’m gauging interest in a meeting for us pocket sun and laser enthusiasts sometime in October before the weather turns nasty.

Reply below if this is something you’d be interested in.

Wish I could make it. It is an awesome city.

Contact 'TunedCavity' at facebook and/or YTube.
Joe and Lucy (JL) we once forum members and what they did w/llasers was outstanding.
Sadly a LPF member in Brazil ordered a custom build-- very fancy--but 'She' turned out to be the equivelent of a 'Bride-Zilla' constantly asking for more changes--never happy- so when her expettations could not be met by anyone. So she came here and had NO PROBLEMS getting the hornerier members to take her side in this---so mkuch that J&L had to quit the forums==BIG LOSS to LPF.

I was invited to visit them and on a trip to Ontario - I called on my way back to Florida however Lucy was about to give birth--had to postpone the visit-- I REALLY wanted to met them 'both'-- a true team. They made as many parts themselves that they could-- )much more than ANY other builder- ATM they had the world record highest power in a handheld AND afaik the first tuneable handheld-- just seeing those in person was worth the visit--AND I was dying to see their machine shop ,laser lab and 'clean-room.'
Only the most serious would have a true 'clean-room' at home. ( and a lathe/mill etc)

Well worth trying to include them-- possibly they might know of a good place to hold the first TORONTOLEM.

You need to place a 'feeler' thread at the lasershow forum.

LEMs are mostly organized over there-- more likely to find more attendees over there. They have a section for just LEMS
'Meet-n-Greet'
to find that forum just search for ytube vids 'SELEM Laser'
There you can get an idea of what happens at these 'meets' IIRC the next SELEM will be longer (like 5 or 6 days) & will to be SELEM 14!!! I have been at 5 SELEMs(happens mid Aug) and will go again , I hope in 2020.

One of my favs is the BS&T 'room' where we sell-buy/sell/trade laser gear and more--
VIA these LEMs I have met >100 forum members family/friends.. Made visits to their homes and also spent a night or two. A great many members have never met another member (or just a small number of members.)

WE have more kewl things to do than we have time to do them.

BUT, for me--it is very refreshing to be around so many people w/o ANYONE asking why we love lasers and need much more than just one laser... agree?? They say=='I don't ''get IT??

Fair warning LEMs can be more addictive than the lasers!!

Everybody brings their best & most exotic. We get to see huge gas lasers and much more---these LEMs are a photogs dream.
Just study up on how to protect your cameras from laser damage.

The list is long-UKLEM (London) SCALLEM (IN S. CALI) NWLEM- (Great Lakes) CALEM --IIRC close to LA
SELEM (N Carolina) --TEXLEM 2012 (San Antonio)--plus a big one in BERLIN --and many more...

Many awesome laser people can be invited-- MIke Dunn has been to many SELEMs .
We got Dr Sam to be our guest at two SELEMs. The list in much longer.

Hak
'Crazy4lasers' and much more.
