Some probably do. I wish someone was around to tell me that Wicked Lasers didn't sell the most powerful handheld in the world before I bought one. :p
A classic case of not researching. If I had looked back then, I would of found plenty. We were all noobs once. :)

Bumping this hoping all new comers will see Curtis's and Sta's hard work showing the best resources available before spending money on bad sights:):)

Unfortunately it takes quite a few people getting scammed that bring people to this LPF before seeing this.
I was though lucky I joined this forum before buying from over priced scammer's. Still didn't stop one scam member from PMing me with a offer, so if your not sure and get a PM just ask;)
Listen, corny or not but if this thread saves just 1 person from over paying it's all worth it..

I don't think there have been complaints from members in Portugal about lasers getting seized by customs. But, you can always talk to whoever you are planning on buying from and get a guarantee that they will replace any seized by customs.

Thanks for this list. Interesting to see WickedLasers ended up in the avoid section. The last laser I bought was many many years ago - it was the Fusion 125mW green and it was awesome back then but I have noticed things went way backwards on their site also.

Just received a package from "Burning Laser Pointer" vendor, also known as "RUIBAI TRADING LIMITED ". Received two used, broken laser pointers. I didn't see their name on the do not buy list. Hmmmm

Hi Twelti,
Chinese vendors are sneaky and dont tell all welcome times, Not saying all do that but it happens too often.
I build mine right here in the US all top components. Good such and wish you the best.

If you are going to buy your lasers from China, it is better to know which have received good reviews than to look at a company you don't know, and because you didn't find a bad review, buy from them. Personally, I build all my lasers. I did buy some lab lasers and gas lasers on eBay, but the direct diode ones, I prefer to build myself.

It'd be impossible for us to keep track of all of the bad Chinese companies. Look for the known good companies and go with those.

Has anyone had any dealings with Cool Laser Pointer Products in Georgia ?
I think I made a mistake in buying the B990 3 watt laser from them. It looks just like the Sanwu Striker.
It took 6 days to get it, the case was damaged from poor packaging, and I have some concerns about the laser itself. I have sent two emails one with 8 pictures showing the damage to the case, and one describing my issue with the laser itself.
I have also called a number of times and only get a machine. Their site says their business hours are from 10am to 10pm. Any ideas ?

I can't imagine they're reselling the Sanwu Striker - the quality of the machining on the pictures on CoolLaserPointer's site looks pretty rough compared to Sanwu's work. Site does look suspiciously similar to that of BurningLaserPointer.com, an equally marked up questionable laser-peddler

Looks like overpriced Chinese lasers and their warehouse address is not far from me here in the Atlanta metro area in an industrial park that I know. Funny their phone number area code is in S.E. Louisiana possibly New Orleans.

I don't believe that's their real physical address, did OP's package have a return address ?

It wouldn't surprise me at all to find this is a really cheap service that some Chinese seller got by offering a small fraction of their profits to a person here in the states to act a drop ship site. I'm fairly sure this address is a ruse in case the Feds get involved in searching for this person. I doubt there is much the OP can do about it at this point unless they used a credit card to make the purchase.
