Hi! A little more info in your introduction would be handy - but Enjoy your stay. I hope you learn a lot while you're here :)

Stay safe - make sure you've read through the Sticky threads carefully and that you take seriously all of the safety information presented here.

Damn Curtis - your signature's quite something now with all those company logos in it!
I don't want my signature to become too long, but at the same time I want new members to see it and choose their companies wisely.
The company logos should make it stand out a bit more. :p

Welcome to the LPF. Since you live in OZ, it will be difficult to obtain laser pointers over 1 mW if you don't plan on building them yourself. It takes some knowledge and practice, but can be done if you have a mind to. Enjoy your stay.

Curtis, you look like a walking ad for companies that you like. I don't see anything wrong with your choices, but there are others that might be less expensive while still being up to LPF standards.

Lol, I hope I’m not coming across purely as an advertisement. I have listed the most popular options. Jet Lasers and Sanwu pop up a lot and it wasn’t based purely on my own preference. I added Dragon lasers simply for the 589’s. Could you imagine what my signature would look like if I started listing all the options. ;)

It's still a work in progress and i'm thinking the same starting high and slowly going down the ladder..:)
Curtis is doing a good thing here and putting quite a bit of time in..

Got to admit it's pretty long. At least three times longer than mine.....and I have had complaints about mine being too long. But, if you feel all of it does a service, you needn't care what others think of your signature.

Well I have tried to make it useful. Also signatures don't show on mobiles now unless in landscape mode. That's where the signature length got out of hand, as it condensed the information into a narrow format causing you to be forever scrolling. :p
I'll modify it if it does cause problems however.

I never minded a long signature;) I'n fact I still frequently like to see what members have for builds, long time vets or not..
I also think nice signatures are good for new members or even lurkers to see. It sure drew me in more to this hobby:)

My signature is only a representation of some of the lasers I have. Really, I need to add some newer ones and remove some older ones. I have been limited in the past to how many I could add to my signature, so I will have to give it some thought as I have many more lasers than the ones in my signature.

Yep, same. :)

This is why I made that graph. It stops me having to take up any more vertical room as my collection grows bigger. It caters lasers from 1mW to 100W and 380-850nm. The only lasers not on there are my CO2 tubes. :) Oh, and probably a few 1mw 650's that I have lying around.

That works fine for just the wavelength and power. I like to add more information about my lasers though. It started back when I had gas lasers, solid state lasers and direct diode lasers. It's a hard habit to break.

What happened to this new guys intro??
I see he is an Aussie--sez so in his OP.
However I will most likely forget that since it is NOT in Bosely's profile and he did not use his location in the title of his ' intro'--

Had Bosely posted this "HELLO form Oz'' he would have caught the attention of his fellow 'down under doods'
AND one of the worst chnages from our old forum to the /new/ one is we MUST go to the members page to see IF they left location there for ys to read..
The 'old way' a location appears under every members post IF the put it into their profile.
100X better..

does anyone know If that can be made the same here/???

One thing tho.. IF a new member does not used the best intro title can you ALL be OKay with them making a Second intro thread. The need for that greatly out-weighs the need for one thread per 'topic' per member.??

So if Bosely wants to make another with his location in the title it would be fine by all of us.. being there this IMHO is even more important to Bosely and as well to all there.

We should not have to contact them to know we have a new member nor should Bosely have to reach out WHEN a proper and smart title is used..

WELCOME M8-
Some of our fav member are there..
myb a 2nd intro will make you 'feel at home ' here.
As you WILL get greets from OZ--I promise!!

Understood. I used to do the same. Technically I could label the points but it would look messy after a while. Or do different colour dots for each laser type.
