I decided to build another laser. This time one that could be used on a rifle. It was hard. This laser has 2 removable circuit boards, a swappable diode and lens assembly, it runs on a 10280 battery and can be disassembled completely and assembled within 5 minutes. And the lens surfaces on the interior do not condensate in a pan of boiling water or -30 Celcius, yes, i tested it. Nor does it damage the rest of the pen
It has a battery management circuit (turns off when battery is under 3.05V) or when the driver is overheating to prevent damage to the electronics or the battery.
An anodized aluminum Hugsby XP-1 flashlight host which has been modified to get al the parts perfectly in there and get everything to seal properly. Also machined a custom bracket to keep every part perfectly apart from each other.
The 2 circuit boards are wrapped in a heat dissipation film, similar to the ones they use in mobile devices, which then are put in a 12mm tube, heatsinked to the host with thermal paste. The driver and such are located at where the "hugsby xp-1" logo is.
The diode and lens module can be disconnected from the driver at any time. It is not soldered to the circuit board, but connected with lvds wire from a laptop and a micro connector with socket. This makes it swappable. The lens assembly has absolute dry air inside to prevent condensation or fungus or any other undesired crap
Next year i probably won't have enough time because of my study to build another laser as building them at this scale is a pain in the ass and requires a lot of time. Its unfortunately not made within a week. It takes months to get everything to fit properly and not shorting or rattling. And to get every seal right.
