When DTR gets more of these, do you think it'll be okay to run at 220ma? Also I was reading earlier on the results post and was I reading the Pinout correct? Is this 473 the same pin layout as most other diodes, case pin not used so basically neautral by default.

( paul1598419 ) am using the 3 element lens :)

Thank you, Alien Laser. Many here are having a "box" or rectangular artifact in the dot using all sorts of lenses. That was the reason for my question. Do you know what the AR coating was on the three element lens you used? Have you seen this artifact with this build at all? :thanks: + rep

I used my B700 camera, i will take some pics using D7200 camera if i get the time today :)
i will take a video using the B700, :pop:

Thanks for the info Alien, I would love to see video from the B700 too.
Man, I don't need another camera but this one picks up the colour nicely.

Would also like to see shots from the D7200.

Cheers

Don't you love that color? I do. I haven't had any tracking updates since Sunday on my driver, so I don't know when I'll get mine built.

Good luck. It would seem the source for these has dried up for now, at least.

488nm diode i sold to someone in England and i had a host made for it from ( ElectricPlasma ), and sold the host and diode.
I had problems finding a driver for it and i was afraid to press it in a module or damage it so i ask DTR to press it in the module but too much liability so i sold it.
I pressed 1/ 44 diode right thew the module

I definitely like the fog pics you took today for this diode. I think it gets the color captured pretty well all things considered.

And here I am looking around for 488nm diodes. You're definitely right about drivers; not easy to find. You had the PLT5 488 right? 100mA @ 6+V is such a pain to look for something reputable.

@ Alien Laser
What are you using? A drill press vise? I use a large pair of channel locks that I have covered the serrated jaws with thin metal to keep them from marring the modules. Works like a charm every time.

In Mar, 2017 i purchased a 4" Mechanic Bench and damaged 3/diodes testing the press,
the 488nm diode was 60mW 75 mA/110 mA,
The only problem is we are getting low on drivers we are running out or the drivers will limit our diodes use in the future as i see it
we are getting all new diodes but drivers are becoming limited a huge problem i believe or maybe am wrong !!!
