My lens is stuck. Please help!

always get it from DTR even the lenses its worth it the extra $$ don't go cheep on your laser and on the safety lenses ( googles )

Yes, I am this last week and again and as always very happy with the laser I just got from DTR, years of quality trusted service, frankly I am amazed that this person screwed his lens in backwards and can't get it out, I just can't imagine that anyone is not able to overpower a little spring, is he afraid to apply a bit of elbow grease?

Hey RC, yeah. It feels like the spring is really just caught on something... I've put as much force on it as I can up to this point, but I need a way to get a good grip on both the module and the lens at the same time. Believe me, I'm amazed at myself that I managed this.

You can't unscrew either the two pieces of the copper module nor just the lens holder from the copper housing??

A couple of small vise grips or a pliers of whatever kind and small vise and with something to protect the module from the jaws should allow you to get it apart.

Best solution ---just send it back to DTR if you don't have the tools to be able to handle it.
He will be able to quickly sort it out for you. EVen if you crossthreaded the pieces and need to buy a new module chances are he can save the diode for you--he is very good at that.

Update: I finally managed to get this lens unstuck!

I took a trip to Harbor Freight to pick up some locking pliers to assist with this job--which took 2.5 hours longer than it should have due to Seattle drivers being absolutely terrible when it starts to snow. :/ Regardless, now it's out, yay! I destroyed the spring in the process, but that should be a relatively cheap part to replace.

How are the round ends of the spring where the spring wire end is, undamaged?, They don't even look pulled out at all, the spring end that caught the lens retainer notch on one end should be pulled away and mangled, yet it lays in the circle, the other end looks undamaged as well.

How about the diode face, what was the diode end of the spring so caught on?
A pic inside the module would be interesting.

It almost looks like a gremlin got inside your module and twisted up the center of your spring yet left the ends undamaged.

Not trying to be a jerk here, but how are the end circles so intact looking?

How are the ends that would be the part that caught against anything, that supported all that twisting, not be pulled away from their circles?

It really only has one viable answer, the spring was twisted outside of the module, this is a ruse.

Also I see no tool marks on the copper module, no distortions in the lens barrels threads from a tool, only discoloration from the thumb wheel.
Also the thumb wheel looks unmarred by any tool.
