Hi OM,
Yeah, I did, odly enough the pl's didn't have a pinout in DTR's site. I figured It out..lol.
I really like it. Got to get a driver now
Danny

Glad you figured it out. I deleted my post because soon after I looked at DTR's site and indeed it wasn't there. He usually has diagrams. Enjoy, thats a really specially awesome diode.

ALL of the diodes on DTR site are case neutral and have the same pinout except for the 250mW 638nm which makes it really easy. I never leave the extra pin when I build.
Just built one of these for a friend here and set it for 325mW for 101mW with an Eitan lens which is a pretty good lens. If you look at DTR testing it is what I have seen buidling a bunch of them.
I've built a ton of LPC-826 lasers and they can be set higher than 550mA although that is a good setting to go with. It's been my experience that the 826 is a better diode than the 836, 840 etc. They absolutely will hit just over 400mW but you will be on the edge of it blowing so I can't recommend it.

Took my pl520 out this am and put it back on the psu, really like it. It's a tough booger as it will take at least twice the recommended current. I have an acrylic lens in it atm and have noticed it has a large dia. output being it is able to focus down so small, compairing it to my 532nm which outputs a very thin beam. got to get a driver ordered cause i cant wait to get it into a host

The problem is finding a driver now. I don't know where to buy any adjustable boost drivers anymore since Flaminpyro is sold out and can't seem to get anymore even though he has been trying for months:(

How right you are,
A real glut in the market. Don't really like using two batteries in smaller builds but seems to be the only option atm

Theres also a pic of the host im gonna use.
Danny

How do you like that host? I literally just recieved mine in the mail and was scratching my head figuring out what to throw in it. I know that trying to fit a 12mm module in there isn't the best fit bit it will work.. I'd love to see how you fit everything together, maybe I can get a couple ideas from you.. I already had a 532 module to put in it but I like the idea of a low powered 515-520

Hi Cal,
I bid on flashlights to get em cheap just to see if I can use em for hosts. I'm thinking I'll use a spacer and one 10440 to have room for a boost driver. I have it on the back burner until I find a driver tho. I have since ordered a couple more of these as they are nice hosts, cheap and usable. The one in the pic was $1.20 shipped...lol. I have numerous lights on the way and will post any that are usable once I check them out. Take a look at Pman's posts as he is the king of these types of builds,

Lol he is the PenMan!! Just for kicks I bid $1.35 not caring if I won or not, and then did win. When it arrived I got excited that the copper modules fit decently and for $1.35 what the hell. I'll be keeping an eye out for more pen type builds, I like how sleek they are

I also fall into that category.
I have quite the collection of brand new leds out of them. Gonna collect a good load and offer them up to the first member that wants them. Don't have the drivers for them, use them for battery boards etc.
