515nm vs 561nm

I received my GLP 561nm yesterday. My expectation was really high to see yellow before pressing the button but I was disappointed once I saw it because it looked just green at that time. Today I received my 515nm and I decided to compare it to the 561nm and woah the 561nm is yellow  Not pure yellow but it's definitely yellow to my eyes.

I didn't manage to compare them to 532nm yet because all I have now is 280mW of 532nm which is overkill.

515nm & 561nm
The aperture here is overexposed is and looks too yellow.

I'd say this one is most accurate except the 515nm looks darker green in real life

NICE What camera did you use to get the 561nm to show up.
Also did you get it from CNI or from another member.

Cool! On the long exposure image, how/why is the 561nm a dotted line? :can: the 515 looks like a normal line. Also, what's the power output of each?

Because the output is pulsed, it's not really noticable unless moving it very fast. Both of them are 5mW +- 2

Great pics! I have a 20mW 561nm but never was able to get a pic of it that was accurate to its color in person. I love 561 my second favorite wl next to 589nm. To me its more green than it is yellow but if you view it along side a 520nm, and 589nm, it appears more yellow.
Its such a bummer that CNI can't ship handhelds to the states. They have so many lasers I would buy if I could.

It depends on the environment around it. It looks more yellow in a dark room, now I really started to like it.

For CNI, you can try some shipping forwarding companies in china. I use one in U.S to buy from sellers that won't ship internationally so it could work if you can find one in china and then let CNI ship to them but still you have to pray that it will pass the U.S customs.

Thanks for the tip. Do you have a link of the company you used?

Ah I see, just like pulse width modulation on some of my cheaper flashlights. Usually more expensive flashlights use a linear driver so they don't have that annoying PWM :( but on lasers it prolly isn't annoying at all :D

Hopefully 561nm lasers get sold by more manufactures in the future, and that restrictions die down(US only). Other then that, it's very unlike we'll get easy access to tons of wavelengths! Grab them while you can :)

CNI is not producing portable 561nm anymore, they have a small stock of these and once sold then that's it for them so grab them while they last.

Well I'm in the US, so the only way I could get a completed unit is to ship it via someone in another country. Then, I'd need to pay additional postage to have it shipped down here. Not something I can financially afford right now :yh:

These must be the pens from the failed Groupbuy.

Lucky.. I had to get a module. I wonder if my module was just taken from one of these pens or was already a separate item. It's interesting because my module is almost double the 5mw output these pens were meant to have.
