So the transaction wasnt for much, but its still an annoyance knowing that someone is getting you to give them free crap.

A few weeks ago i had a case opened from someone claiming an unauthorized transaction, however the item they bought was sent to their house just under a different name, so they still get the item.
Shipping takes about a week at most here in Australia and funnily the claim wasnt opened until after about a week....

So i called paypal told them that i have no tracking numbers due to the size and cost of the items i sell and they told me its okay as i have a 100% positive reputation for over 220 transactions and i have a photo of the stamped envelope all smiles atm.

Nothing updates on paypal so i call again, only to be told that with only 1 day before the funds are taken that there is nothing i can do and having a good rep (100%!!!!) isnt enough along with the photo of addressed and stamped envelope so this person will be receiving their free Laser module and ill be out of pocket because of that.

So apparently being a Top Rated + PowerSeller on ebay means that someone with no feedback can win any case against you...

And you cant even report Buyers for fraudulent activities, it simply takes you to a FaQ if you dont want to leave positive feedback... the f*ck.

hmmm if picture of the package is not enough then why not ask for buyer signature upon arrival? and why don't you send the money directly into your bank account once recieve?
how much did they scammed you? and lesson learned use tracking....don't try to cut edges and leaving yourself vulnerable to scam.

Scam wasnt for much, however the things i sell tend to be under $20, so having to add on top of that $4 for tracking makes the prices a bit meh.
I dont sell things for an awful much above what i buy them and i try to keep them competitive with the prices you'd get if you got them from overseas.

I understand the tracking etc, but what pisses me off is that a buyer with 0 feedback wins a case against a seller with 100% positive feedback.
The whole system is geared towards the buyer, and from next year if a buyer doesnt leave 5 stars it goes against my rating, even if it was neutral or 4 stars... i mean come on.

Aren't you the guy from the cytometer thing? What was up with that?

Anyway, back on track. FUBeaches is right, if you request a signature, you can potentially avoid these problems. You could also mark up your prices a bit to cover the costs.

Um, why is this in the Safety and Legal Issues forum? The "Legal Issues" is supposed to be related to laser-related legal issues, not eBay policy. If anything, this should be in the "Other" category.
