What country are you in? You should add it to your profile so it shows under your name.

The best color for burning is 405nm violet (the least visible) also 445nm or 450nm blue. The brightest is green, if you're going for 200-300mW then get a 520nm. Even my 82mW 520nm has a very visible beam if the light isn't too bright. Basically you have to choose between good burning or something really bright, or you can get both by getting a high power blue 445/450nm, a higher power 405nm will burn anything and at quite a distance but the beam looks like almost nothing. At 200-300mW you may want to also consider a 638nm red.

I learn about the laser pointers, and it can be sorted as the green laser pointer, red laser pointer, blue laser pointer and purple laser pointer.
What's the mainly usage of the purple laser pointer?
Any body can help me solve this question?

Just a reminder...

Not accusing of anything here, but I'd suggest everyone to get a bit more cautious with people asking questions like these and avoid wasting too much of your time. If he were indeed to have all the necessary parts for a build but doesn't even know where to get a diode, then I highy doubt he's being serious here.

Red is much less bright and needs a little more power for burning, but it also depends on the color of what you're burning. You will likely be more satisfied with green, however I don't know what your budget is so you may want to consider something else. You will also need safety glasses when burning or looking at the dot up close or when there's any risk of reflection. A laser of that power can cause permanent eye damage if you are careless with it, and will cause permanent damage instantly if you take a direct hit.

You will also need batteries and a charger, you will be powering it off one or two 3.7V Li-Ion batteries depending on what you buy and what driver you use. Unless you are building something that will plug into the wall.

The lens you use will make a difference, at that power level I suggest a G2 or other single element lens to provide maximum power output, you may get some splash and not a perfect dot but more power.

Most of us here buy our diodes/modules from DTR (a member here):

He also sells on Amazon.

Amazon.com At a Glance: DTR's Laser Shop

He also sells on eBay.

Hi Laser Light
Welcome to the forum.
Alan has you all set :)
Where are you from as that can determine if certain things can be sent to you or not.
Remember to get proper safety laser goggles for the wavelength of your laser if it is over 5mW. Enjoy, have fun and most importantly be safe.
BTW, Please be sure to click on this link for a chance(s) to win a laser of your choice!! :)

I agree it seems a little off, but why do people troll like this?
