driver for IR diodes

I am looking to find a small driver able to drive some TO-18 IR diodes (require on output: 2.4V/1A-1.5A). I prefer to be something adjustable (but is not a must) and input up to 4.2V. What you suggest? Regards, Alx

You can use the x-drive buck driver it can do the job.

I found x-drive before to post here. I would like to use it but seems that is suitable for blue diodes. Din you used it with IR? Are you sure is working with IR diodes?

The x-drive would be fine for IR diodes. Just use one battery, instead of two. This is because the vf for IR diodes is so low.

If you don't want to have to worry about setting the driver yourself with a testload, consider a AMC7135 based-driver. It can be configured to 1050ma or 1400ma (each chip puts out 350ma)

That's the point , I would like to be adjustable. I cannot use preset currents. As I am able to see:

- x-drive come with preset currents. Does exist also adjustable version?
- x-drive size is 10.3x15.4 (so will not fit inside Aixiz module) but exist also many other version with smaller PCB size.
For example: 8.3x10.2, 8.3x11.8, 9.2x14 and 9.5x15.2

Not clear for me, one of those version (adjustable, smaller PCB size) are available for sale here too?

Try messaging Lazeerer. He makes and sells x-drives, flexdrives, and boost drives. I have seen adjustable x-drives, so he can probably sell you one.

Actually, I just measured the dimensions of my aixiz module and the end barrel had a 10.38mm inner diameter.
It may fit, just something to think about as I have not tried one myself.

This should be right up your alley, if you're willing to put the driver in a pill instead.

I will take care about it, but it would be nice if will be 15mm dia. This one is 16.8mm ... but I will take care about it ... sent a PM to lazereer and waiting his answer. He produced a lot of PCB, and this is confusing users but is proving that is still looking for and identity and the final decision ... what to build exactly ...

Can somebody explain what does it mean 91% efficiency? As I could understand, it is referring about heat-sink, but I cannot understand how and what exactly it mean ...
