Hello all, i am looking into building a 445nm ~2 watt into a Saik 305 for long duty cycles, but i have a few questions before i start with the build.

My main question is, if i wanted to use mohgasm's 17mm round driver, could i do so with the original pill? If so, how would i get a negative contact from the host to the driver, just solder a wire onto the pill somewhere to the negative input ring on the driver? If any of you have tutorials for wiring a saik, or pictures, that would be great. My main concern is wiring. It would also be possible for me to use the original driver with all the components removed and then just use it as a contact board, then going to a rectangular driver on top. I just need to find out how to get the neg(-) current from the back of the flashlight to the driver, and also, how to modify the original battery holder so i can use a linear driver.

Thanks!

There is a link to my SAiK build in my sig. I don't know if that will help you plan/use a round driver, but there it is.

Good luck on your build.

I see. It looks like a nice build. How did you get the negative current (black wire) from the host to the driver (cause the current from the back part of the batteries goes thru the host). What did you use as a contact board? (in the other side of the pill?

Thanks!

The ground was carried through the body of the host. I used the pill's original driver PCB for the - input to the driver.

Not steal Scumbags thunder lol ;), but here is a build I did a while back. It also used a Moh linear, but the rectangular version. Maybe it will be of some use. Good luck

Grainde, your kung-fu is strong. If I'd remembered your build, I'd have recommended it!

It's not like I didn't refer to it during my build!

That linear driver will work, but it will produce a lot of heat also limiting your run times.

I would recommend a boost driver and a 32600 batt. You could use a FM boost/buck driver would work great in that host FoulMist. Check my sig for any ideas that will help. I love the sAik host;). Good luck and happy building:beer:

Sorry for this misunderstanding, G. I meant I was using your build as a reference when building mine. I, regrettably, did not mention said reference in my build thread.
