Stainless Steel Battery Extension Tubes Now Available from Survival Laser!

In response to customer requests, Survival Laser is now offering a brushed finish stainless steel battery extension tube for use with the new Survival Laser stainless steel hosts and laser parts bundle host options.

This stainless steel battery extension tube is made in the USA and allows the use of two "18650" Li-ion batteries for higher total battery capacity, longer total run times and at full output power.

However, DO NOT use the battery extension tube with any laser builds that include a "boost" driver circuit that is limited to a maximum input voltage of 5.5-6V, as you will likely damage or destroy the driver.

The tube weighs approximately 74 grams (2.6 oz), and with the extra 18650 battery adds significant heft to an already massive host. Brushed finish stainless steel matches the finish of our stainless steel laser host assemblies. Price is $17.79 each with the LPF discount. Note: Laser host not included. :)

Very nice, definitely gonna pick up one or two. BTW I got the remote clicky working with my red.

Did you try using two cells? I think the limitation with the remote is voltage-related.

Actually i just used one Uitraflre 3000mah battery and it worked fine, no way im risking damaging my red with 2 batteries, however those cheap chinese ripoffs that I can buy here seem to work better than the real thing.

Well, my personal stainless SL II SE weighs 363 grams (12.8 oz) with the extension tube and two Ultrafire 18650 batteries. :eek:
 
Gary, can you please post one more pic of how it would look with one of FP's conical adapters?

What would be the price for conical adapter, heatsink, host, and tube altogether?

It would be $13.49 for the conical focus adapter, $42.29 for the stainless steel host and copper heat sink and $17.99 for the stainless steel 18650 battery extension tube (LPF prices).

That looks awesome! Do you have these with the SL logo, and without?

I think I would actually prefer mine with the logo:p

Yes, but I sell the one with the logo exclusively with the bundles. I hope you can understand why.
 
I had a nice surprise today when my 2 extension tubes arrived - I'd temporarily forgotten I'd ordered them :D

Gary, there is a small problem with these extensions.
I have 2 of your stainless hosts and on one of them neither extension will screw into the clicky end all the way so its flush. With one extension there is approximately a 1mm gap, on the other its approx 0.5mm.
The threaded ends on the extensions where they screw into the clicky could do with being just that little bit shorter.
 
Stix, the problem is actually with the host tailcaps. There is a variability of the thread dimensions that I did not anticipate. Since I discovered this problem I have been trying to ensure that the hosts work with the extension tubes before shipping them.

Try putting a little grease on the threads and work it back and forth a few times to see if that will help.
 
A bit of very forceful working back and forth with grease applied just about did the trick for the one with the smaller gap, but not for the other.
The dremel and a bit of careful sanding sorted that one out. I've left a tiny little gap still but I'm going to throw a G.I.T.D o-ring in there :D

Hmm... follow up question :p

Did you measure these extension tubes out to accommodate both protected and uprotected cells?

My goal is to use two high capacity protected batteries.
