Yep, did all that before I mailed them. If the button wasn't so easy to push I probably wouldn't worry too much about it. But this one is way to easy to push to risk carrying it loose in a bag or something (not a good idea, anyway, but you get my point. I'd rather have that added safety so it doesn't get against something and burn it out while I'm transporting it if it's not in it's box.

I think these are the same as the old computer keys / locks for a pc back in the day if you have any laying around.

Thanks, I don't have any, but might not be too hard to find one somewhere if that's the case. I still haven't heard anything back from them yet, but it's the weekend . . .

Update:

Max contacted me today and says they are shipping out the keys. Very good customer service. I had a blast playing with this thing in the snow storm we had last night!! It's so nice to have something that holds a charge as long as this thing does. MUCH better than the AAA models I've been playing with.

Another Update:::

Well, I got the Rock Power 50mw today. Just getting to play with it a little bit. I put fresh AW batteries in it and the one from Lazerer.com. So far, I cannot get the Rock power to pop a balloon, but the Lazerer will in about .5 seconds. I'm still trying to play with the focus on the Rock Power, but the divergence of the Lazerer model seems to be much better. I'll post up a comparison thread when I get time to play with it a little more. Love the rock power host, though. But, as other have said, the button is pretty hard to push. Dollar for dollar, I'd probably suggest the Lazerer model from what I've seen so far, though.

in the video you uploaded to youtube... you popped the baloon without modifying the focus?
do you ordered power certificate with the lazerer?

Yep, it will pop one turned all the way in, which is the setting for infinity as well. So, I'm guessing it's quite a bit more powerful than the Power Rock since I can hardly get it to pop one at all. At least that's what I'm gathering from the replies in the thread I did about comparing the two I bought.

And, unfortunately, I didn't get the certificate with it.

Don't bother with Lazerer's certificate. If you're in this hobby to stay, I highly recommend getting your own laser power meter! It definitely helps especially if you buy from other websites that don't offer power certs or even from users over the forums :)

-> Grab a LaserBee 2.5W USB LPM here! - 139.99 CAD + shipping

If you don't want to use USB:
-> Grab a LaserBee 2W Analog here! - 139.99 CAD + shipping
-> or... a Bluefan Basic LPM (comes with calibration cert) here! - 70 euro + shipping

Hope this helps :beer:

The one from Lazerer.com is brighter for sure. It will pop a balloon without even focusing it. Divergence is similar, maybe better on the one from o-like, but very similar, IMO.
However, I bought another one from Lazerer for my friend, and it's not as bright as the one from o-like. I got really lucky with mine, apparently. It's way overspec to pop a balloon without focusing it, I would think.

Yup, you definitely have an overspec laser.

The Power Rock from o-like actually crapped out on me. But they have excellent customer service. Sue sent me a new module once I E-mailed her a copy of the shipping confirmation where I sent them the bad one back so I didn't have to wait for it to get there and then another few weeks to get it back. The new one works great, easy to install.
