I'm for sure a noob when it comes to lasers, but I posted in my introduction thread about wanting to pick a good green laser for cheap that has a good battery life. The two top choices for best bang for the buck seemed to be the Power Rock 50mw green from o-like and the LZCS 50mw from Lazerer.
Please ignore the fact that I say "Rock Power" instead of "Power Rock" in EVERY video, lol
I ended up buying one of each, so here's my untrained personal opinion.
I like the fact that the Power Rock comes with a battery and charger and it's a great price. After fully charging the Ultra Fire battery I tried it out in each laser and tried each with one of the AW's I had purchased for the LZCS. Maybe I'm crazy, but it seemed to me that both Lasers were brighter with the AW battery vs. the Ultra Fire battery. So, provided the UF battery is crap, as I've heard others say, it's not that big of a selling point.
I know several have reviewed the Power Rock, so I won't go into details about it's look or the belt case it comes with, etc. But I didn't find much info on the LZCS from Lazerer.com when I was doing my shopping research.
The LZCS seems really solid and the focus function is great. All the way in is tight, all the way out is loose. Simple enough. The Power Rock, however, is not like that at all. You have to find the sweet spot with it. Too far in and you go past it and start going wider again. So, for sure the LZCS is better in that aspect.
Both lasers appear to be very similar in brightness. I cannot tell a difference at all, but I do not have a way to test them for sure.
However, the LZCS will easily pop a black balloon.
I cannot get the Power Rock to pop a balloon at all, yet.
The Power Rock seems to have a very slightly tighter spot at very long distances, but it's very minimal difference.
The Power Rock for sure has the coolest looking host, IMO, but the button is a pain in the ass to push. Not only is it hard to push, you have to push it to turn it on, then again to turn it off. So, it's twice as bad.
The LZCS is simple push on, release off. The button on it is almost too easy to push, but it has the lock on the back for transporting it safely, which I like. They did, however, forget to include my keys with mine, but they already have me a set on the way. I for sure prefer the switch of the LZCS over the Power Rock switch.
The Power Rock is waterproof, the LZCS is not.
So, basically, it's a matter of personal preference, but I think if I had to buy another, I'd go with the LZCS again since it's easier to focus, better designed switch, has a safety lock, and will pop a balloon in a split second when, so far, I'm not able to do it at all with the Power Rock.
I may just not have the focus down on the Power Rock yet and have not had much time to play with it. I'll post up if I work it out, though.
Update:
I found the sweet spot that will pop balloons with the Power Rock. However, with the LZCS, screwed all the way in is a tight beam at a distance and it will easily pop a balloon at the same setting, so it really never has to be moved. With the Power Rock, it will only pop a balloon at a very precise focus setting, and at that setting, it's a very large spot at a distance. So with it, you have to change the focus depending on if you want to burn/pop or if you want a tight spot at a distance.
So, the LZCS gets another point in my book.
