It is a quadrupole magnet, but not from an x-ray laser, so I'll give you that! Interesting fact - the only reason they need a magnet for an x-ray laser is because they are using electrons moving sinusoidally to create coherent light. That is, an x-ray laser is not really a laser at all! ^_^ Your turn!

Man, I woulda bet my left nut that the soldered mess was a Jake-21 "SPECIAL BUILD", lol. Did ANYONE else think that it was a JAKE-21 "SPECIAL" ???

Jake-21 used to be on LPF a few years back & was known for that kind of 'Quality' soldering work. Then when a buyer complained, he'd say "it's cool, don't worry about it" or something to that effect. Haven't seen him on LPF for awhile now. Wonder why??? :)

Your sorta on the right lines, but it doesnt hold something for that long, maybe for a few seconds at best.
