As said here, I'm planning to line up another one around August, I want to at least do a feeler to see if there is good interest before I send out the emails. I think this time I spammed them a bit too much, they went from lengthy answers to doing whatever they could to get them off their back.

Group buys can be done whenever, theoretically. Though that does not take into consideration the company providing the products. If you've worked with food, you will understand this analogy better. You could get a bite to eat whenever you want, but if you "rush" the restaurant with many orders at once, they won't want to make them. So I could do a group buy with CNI whenever I wanted, but they will eventually get annoyed at the constant influx in orders and email bombardment.

Plus, there will ALWAYS be a small pool of ready-to-buy customers. That being said, a small pool just won't do. If I started another GB for CNI tonight, it would not meet the quota very quickly, and it would be drawn out to August. However, if I wait, those customers will save their money, and build in numbers, and jump on the GB the moment I post it in August. Another analogy would be constantly putting food into a fish tank, it would be slowly eaten throughout the day, or I could wait until night, and morning, and they will all eat at once. See the trend?

All that being said, I love GBs. I love stress, is that not strange? Gives the illusion of importance, and I enjoy being able to help out. You have to care for, and monitor a GB at all times. I maintain a list of things that I need to talk to CNI to throughout the day, and email them at night. Whenever I see a post here, I immediately check the thread and see if there's a question that needs answering. Although I am not perfect, by far, I like to at least do what I can to answer questions, or speak to CNI about it personally to get to the bottom of whatever needs addressing.

The vacation shots won't come for a while though.

I'm hoping mine will arrive tomorrow too. Last time DJNY sent me something it only took 3 or days to get here which amazing because it can take longer to send something across the US.

I got a note in my mailbox. The postman has an international delivery but nobody was at home for a signature. Now I have to pick it up on Monday. Argggg !!

Mine arrived in New York around 6PM on the 27th. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow or Monday. I finally got around to tweaking my 488. It is putting out 10mW now. Now I just need to wait for a foggy night for some rare wavelength photos. I'm thinking 488 that isn't from gas, 520 and 589.

So JFKA is JFK airport, right? That's my last location update from the tracking site.

How do you know it made it to JFK? Did you spring for the EMS tracked shipping?

edit: ah I see where you saw that. Yeah JFKA is JFK airport in NYC afaik. I'd say we should see them tomorrow or Monday. Woohoo!


edit the second: for grins and giggles I put the number DNJY sent me into the USPS tracking page and it works. Not sure if it'll continue to get updated but since it's listed as international priority mail I'm guessing it will. Since it says Processed though the ISC facility looks like they cleared customs too.
