I think it was 6 AAAA batteries if I recall correctly..?

yeah and if you want more amazing open up one of those 6v lantern batteries, the big squares. they are full of about a ~3 dozen AA batteries that's right 30+ of them.

OMFG !! THAT is awesome ! Too bad they do not make those in Lithium types....that would TRULY be a humungo bargain at that point ! SWEET ! I think I may go to a discount store and buy up a few odd battery types to dissassemble them and see what makes them tick :p (Minus the Lithiums, of course....no desire to get burnt and such !)

AWESOME !

This is getting waaaay off-topic, but:

The above didn't sound reasonable (were you kidding?)[smiley=undecided.gif] and not to my memory, so I went to the "archives room" and pulled one apart... photo below. This one's at least 3 years old though.

And the 9V - back in the old days they were a vertical stack of rectangular cells. Took apart a recent one though to check... and sure enough, it's now 6 x AAAA! probably cheaper to use the standard components, but the storage density available in the old way was higher ( just think of the air gaps between those cylindrical cells, and the extra metal in the cases, as wasted space).

Oh, and I used to crush the mercury cells in my dad's vice to get the merc out
--- don't do that! that's how I got how I am today ;D
(mercury is *highly toxic* in very small amounts - and toxic amounts of it vaporize at room temperature)

It depends on the brand. I know energizers are 4 d-cell's. Real D cells just like you'd buy as if you bought a package. Some are a crapload of AA ( which are usually carbon zinc bats ) and some have some large c-cell type batteries. you just gotta find the ones that are packed with AA's.

We had a bunch ( i think walgreens or radioshack ) that were loaded with AA's back in the hurricanes in 2004.

The carbon-zinc ones are the one's I used to take apart for graphite rods, and those wern't AA or AAAA batteries, but I'll try it on other types.

OK, If I want to buy one, do I pay now or pay when the order hits 50?
Either way add my name to the list.

Is SenKat's DIY Component Kit basically a LM317? What's in the kit? I can't find any info. Is this OK to setup with the BlueRay one?
Ta!
